Top 10 best / top 5 worst anime (w/ index).

What are your 10 favorite and 5 least favorite anime?

I've only been watching anime for about a year, so I haven't seen as much as everyone else, but here's my list:

5. FLCL - A very strange trip through the difficulty of adolencence and the struggle to become an adult. Most people miss the plot and just love this anime for its wacky parodies of South Park and other cartoons, but look a little closer, and you will find meaningful character studies of all the characters invovled. I've listened to The Pillows' Soundtrack once almost every day.

4. Grave of the Fireflies - How many war movies, not anime, do you know that can capture the horror of war from a child's point of view? How many anime's, or movies for that matter, are this realistic? If your heart didn't go out to the characters in this one, you may not have one.

3. Princess Mononoke - One of my first anime movies I'd ever seen, this film is beyond beautiful. The plot is incredibly thick with interesting characters, especially Sen and Ashitaka, the young warriors. Unlike disney fare, the animals aren't exactly cute and cuddly. They can and will kill. The amazing climax kept me glued to the television, where all enviormental hell breaks loose.

2. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind - In my opinion, this is the Star Wars of anime features, and the best of Miyazaki's work (that i've seen). Nausicaa is one of the most likeable characters in anime, and the story itself brilliantly captures the mistakes of humanity, rather than just resorting to the simple good vs. evil plot of other hollywood adventures.

1. Neon Genesis Evangelion Series + End of Evangelion - Brilliant character study that contains the soul of the artist that created it. That creator, Hideki Anno, put all of his fears, hopes, horrors, and insecurities into an animated powerhouse of emotion. I was, like many others, disapointed in the series ending, but the End of Evangelion more than made up for it. It's more of a horror than an anime where the horror is not being killed, dismembered, or tortured. The real horror is rejection. To a person that has felt nothing but rejection, it's sheer terror. That bittersweet ending, I Need You, was in my mind for weeks.

Honorable Mention: Spirited Away, Cowboy Bebop, Love Hina.

I don't usually like making worst lists. Most of the anime I have seen has been mediocre at its worst because I do listen to word of mouth and reviews. Here are the ones I was somewhat disapointed in:

Rahexphon - The first disc just bored me entirely. There really wasn't any character development in those episodes. The story itself was rather weak, I thought. Does it get better in later episodes?

Excel Saga - Someone told me it was funny but I didn't really laugh (except at the theme song). Maybe I haven't seen enough anime to get the jokes.

Super Milk Chan - Okay, that one was horrible.

What are your 10 Favorite and 5 least favorite animes?

Driftroot's Favorite 5
Be advised I do not mean to say these are THE top 5/bottom 5 ever made, just my opinions of what I've seen and liked/disliked.

1. Fruits Basket: I watched this series a long time ago (relatively speaking) and recently purchased the whole kaboodle because I remembered how much it made me laugh and cry. Very, very few series can touch on so many emotional truths so well. An exemplary contribution to anime across the board.

2. Hellsing: I can forgive so much in terms of the varying quality of animation and divergence from the manga story line because what's left is still so great. Confession - I am very biased towards character-driven storylines and this series is everything you could ask for in this department. I prefer to focus on the accomplishments of Hellsing (some of the animation is outstanding, as are original portions of the plot) rather than the negatives.

3. Vampire Hunter D: Ok, not a series, but we've got two movies so far and they're both in my collection so they're being listed here. Amano is one of my favorite artists, 'nuff said here. The world realized in "D" is refreshing and different, but still familiar. Although the first movie (made in the 1980's) is strikingly dated in appearance and sound, I still find it enjoyable to watch and marvel at this fact every time around. The second movie I've seen dozens of times and enjoy thoroughly.

4. Rurouni Kenshin: This would be higher, but I always dismayed over the downturn the anime took after the Kyoto arc. Do I really need to add why I love this series, and the movies? No. Many others have already said whatever I would.

5. Saiyuki: I've heard hundreds of bad reviews of this series, complaints, grumbling and bad-mouthing, but I have a weak spot for this series, the first I ever ran out and purchased on DVD. Again, I prefer to focus on the positive aspects of a series than its negatives. It is entertaining, memorable and eminently re-watchable, the last being a VERY important reason why Saiyuki is No. 5 on my list.

And in sixth place, just because... Inuyasha: I once saw this series (I believe at ANN) described as nothing more than a 170+ episode monster of the week fest. WRONG. I really enjoy Rumiko Takahashi's works and this one is no exception. I cannot imagine any overhaul of anime excluding this series and so it also appears here. Great characters, nice animation, great music, emotional impact, intense action - all good stuff.

Driftroot's Least-Favorite 5

Given that I refuse to watch more than one episode of anything, anime or otherwise, I hate, this list is skewed heavily. These are series I watched enough of to have an educated opinion:

1. Texnolhyze (sp): Yeah, this is not why I was attracted to anime. I fail to see why this needed animation to be created, when I think many movies have already done a better job. I really can't stand Tex.

2. DBZ: I never really understood this to be anime until it was pounded into my head (by me) that it came from Japan. I mean, at some level I knew this, but the fact didn't really sink in until I began watching "real" anime and realized what I'd been missing out on. And no, I was NEVER a DBZ fan.

3. Meine Liebe: I'm actually watching this series right now and kicking myself every time I push "Play." Oh the bishounen angst, oh the historical drama, ooohhhh the tortured plotline... I think it will be my New Year's resolution to stop wasting my time and get on to better things.

*quick checks her list of anime*

4. Now & Then, Here & There: This is an extreme exception to my list in that I acknowledge that it's a great series and should be watched, but was so utterly depressing and disturbing to me that I really wish I had never seen it. The incredible contrast between the Cyboorg 009-esque feel of the animation and the subject matter bothers me to no end.

5. Bakuretsu Tenshi: I'm female, but I can deal with the oft-encountered fanboy fanservice factor in anime without breaking a sweat. I am, however, immediately sensitive to gratuitous fanservice, particularly when the pre-pubescent girls have bigger cup sizes than I do and the series is not aware of its own laughable, gravity-defying bosom antics. Toss in strange mixtures of 2D and CGI, bizarre and somehow also generic, overused plots as well as poorly choreographed, pathetic fight scenes and, well, that's all for me, folks. I'm outta here.

My sig (because they don't work!):
"Even primitive symbols look like something else with human imagination. You might call this a function of the human brain. Those people who can't jack off to anime therefore must have something wrong with their brains!"- Madareme, Genshiken Chairman No. 2

5. Now and then, here and there
-> Not many people like this anime but i must say this anime was damn masterpiece because it talks about the side effect of War. I must say that this anime is the most darkest anime ever. It talks about the victims of war, soldier's life in the communism country and lots of other things. I must say i almost cried (my soul) when i watched this anime. So if you haven't seen this anime go watch it! i suggest you that bring tissue with you!

[Topic Adjusted -t]

You got my vote for this anime.this is truely a master piece anime.well balance story, great plot.it's just amazing.get this box set and i ensure that you wouldn't regret it.the story and sound track is just outstandingly excellent.

i will name one of my all time favourites too but don't think much would like it though.

1.you're under arrest season one - a mix of comedy, action and a bit of comedy romance.police ladies solving funny cases to serious cases.interesting characters.nice drawing with great sound tracks.one of my favourites anime which caught my heart when i first saw it.truely recommend it if you got the money to spare cause the box set don't come cheap. :(
worst anime i have seen - naruto

2.Ninku - The ninku is a clan of extinct ninjas who command esoteric and powerful techniques, hence a lot of other groups are constantly trying to steal their techniques to take over the country. Their primary target is Fusuke, a weird looking kid but one of the most powerful Ninku ninja. Fusuke, together with other Ninku ninja with different specialties must fight those threat that caused the downfall of the Ninku clan.Great story, great animation drawing and filled with comedy in it.excellent anime.

joon i second to your worst anime choosen.this anime is super draggy man.so much flash back to their childhood etc etc or infact taken over 1/3 of the whole anime on flash back.sound track isn't really very good.fighting scenes are extremely great but overall still too slow.

What are your 10 Favorite and 5 least favorite animes?

my top 5:

1. Azumanga Daioh - Brilliant schoolgirl comedy. Slice of life is my favorite genre, and the situations and characters were absolutely brilliant. One of the few anime where I enjoyed every single episode to the fullest.

2. Hana Yori Dango - This was my all-time favorite for the longest time (since 2000) until Azumanga came along. I wasn't very familiar with shoujo drama until I watched HYD, and it was so damn awesome, with cliff hangers at the end of every ep. Still the best 'shoujo high school romance drama' that i've seen to date.

3. Kimi ga Nozomu Eien - Extremely gripping, no other show made me cry as much as this one. It's not depressing, just extremely emotional and moving.

4. To Heart - To Heart still has a special place for me because it was the first slice of life show to really move me. Every episode was slow-paced and beautifully scripted.

5. Kanon - Before KGNE, there was Kanon. The first half of the show is build up and character development for the last half, which proceeds to destroy or reveal each character's true nature, resulting in an awesome tearfest. The episodes involving Ayu near the end were especially moving. This and Kiminozo are the cream of the crop of so-called bishoujo anime.

My bottom 5:

1. Reign the Conquerer - men in thongs and a completely senseless plot. This is about Alexander? WTF is going on? I don't have a clue. Apparently neither does the korean staff that made this show.

2. Konjiki no Gash Bell - Quite frankly I still have no idea why people find this show appealing. It's about a boy, and his naked doll-friend. The humor is retarded (I don't understand why it's funny that the doll speaks in old japanese), and the plot seems Pokemon/Digimon-esque with people using dolls against each other. BORING!

3. Prince of Tennis - quite possibly the worst sports anime ever made.
I happen to love sports anime, and there is a distinct formula for a GOOD sports anime show: most notably there are two flavors:
1) the main character is extremely talented but does not like displaying this talent, and others go to lengths to force that character to use it until they enjoy doing it (aka Yawara).
2) the main character sucks at first, but has a hidden talent that they cultivate after many matches/events. We watch the character grow (aka Battle Athletes).

Prince of Tennis is neither. In Prince of Tennis, we have some little snot-nosed junior high/freshman kid arrive on court who proceeds to beat the crap out of EVERY SINGLE OPPONENT he faces with ease. From the very start there is absolutely no suspense or drama. The dragonball-like chanting of special tennis moves was also annoying. The addition of good looking tennis players later on, and the fact that they fight each other is pretty meaningless filler for an otherwise lifeless sports anime.

In short, I have no idea why people like this show.

4. King of Bandit Jing - Just very very very boring.

I can't think of the other 2 I hate, will add them later.

What are your 10 Favorite and 5 least favorite animes?

Ok, I like this topic. I'll try to make another post like Joon's.

Top 5 favourite anime

(Please remember that this list is how I think in the last months. Obviously, within a few months/years I can easily change my preferences)

1.- Twelve Kingdoms

First time I saw it announced, I had never heard about it. But, the first chapter I saw (which was almost up to 20th), got me interested in this anime. Why? Because the whole atmosphere of ancient China, mixed with those magical elements, an stamental society, with rulers here and there, different reigns with different laws and habitants. I love this kind of histories, and obviously, the medium of anime also counts. It's like Fushigi Yugi, yes, but Twelve Kingdoms focuses more on what should be Yoko's correct behaviour and a good way to govern her kingdom. And Miaka doesn't so much responsability, or at least, she has much more people who helps her.

2.- Haibane Renmei

It may sounds funny if I admit that I haven't seen it all (just like Twelve Kingdoms), but with half the series I can truthly say that is one of my all-time prefered. As others animes may be good to me because of their story, because they act like a medium of entertainment, I use to consider Haibane Renmei as a "Teaching tool". It is, to me, a perfect story making you see things from a different way. Instead of action, mistery and hidden arguments that makes you think about what is this or what is that (I still don't know how are Haibane born or Reki's dream...). No, don't spoil those, please.

3.- Kareshi Kanojo no Jijyo (Kare Kano)

(By the way, I have to submit a different image to the Encyclopedia picture, I've got some that are better than the currently one.)

Why should I like this? Because of its sweetness. Are you thinking that I am girly? Maybe, but I have to insist that this anime is one of the best romance animes I have ever seen. While it is (by any way), similar to the WHOLE manga (almost seventh volume released in Spain :D), I consider it as the part of Yukino and Soichiro's love. As the storyline is completly admirable (and I mean, there's nothing strange that happens, and remember I am not talking about reality or fiction, just of logic), the music is also rather quite and well-composed for the anime. And, the story makes (maybe) know you more of Japan (ok, this is just good if you like the country, but I do), the constant photographies, as well as the Opening & Ending, makes your mind finding all more real, more closer to us and our lives (for those who are studying, who whill, and who already had). Ok, enough, this is large...

After those, I find hard to decide which enter my own Top 5, so it's something that can easily change.

4.- Inuyasha

Another anime ambiented at old times, quite similar to Twelve Kingdoms or Fushigi Yugi. However, with Inuyasha, instead of liking by excellent characters or plots, I am a fan because it mixes a lots of ingredients. Action & Fights that take place with ancient scenarios, with swords and other non-hightechnology stuff, even at sometimes magic (like Tesaiga, the sword). Kagome usually represents more the humans, the way we can usually think or usually act. She's like representing me at Inuyasha's world. And, latest but not less important, the musics on it are more than good, who doesn't love My Will song? It's cool...

5.- Grave of the Fireflies (movie) (I had problems chosing this, other series like Wolf's Rain, NieA Under 7 and other Studio Ghibli films could deserve the fifht place...Let's just expect that movies also can be mentioned here ;)).

This is one of the best examples of how animated movies can do exactly the same the non-animated. Yes, I cried with it, and I've got no shame to admit so. It is a good way to fight agaisnt wars and all problems that they take. But, this is not the main thing. Seita and Setsuko are too young to deserve that, they even could do nothing. However, most people here knows how things go...(I won't spoil anything). So, sad, at all, but also great and a masterpiece when it comes to make people feel worse, and why? Because we usually do some things that they wrong, just like Shin Takahashi said. A sad storyline, yet one of the best I've seen (in anime, of course).

...I feel to tired to continue with the Bottom 5 list. Probably I'll do it later, maybe tomorrow. And don't tell me list threads should be like this, I'm tired >_

What are your 10 Favorite and 5 least favorite animes?

Posting a list of favorites is hard for me, as I'm never sure what I really like. I enjoy most of what I see. I can only really judge by if I get emotionally into it, or how long I still think of it. As such, most of what I consider favorites are things I saw months back, I still like to think about. Some are more obvious than others. Still, since this is a worthwhile favorites thread, I'll try to complete it.

In no real order.

1 Gunbuster - Having been a huge fan of Evangelion, I picked this up upon learning of it's director. Initially, it came off as a slightly enjoyable shojo show. Then I saw more of it. I loved the science used. It added a level of realism and dramatic effect. I identified with Noriko. I was going through a depressing time as well. Its one of the few shows I couldn't stop watching. Gunbuster is easy at the top of my list.

2. Macross - A lot of the shows I put on these lists are shows I couldn't stop watching. I tend to watch a show one episode a day. When I start going through whole videos at a time, it's got to be good. Macross is one of them. There was something about how all the elements(the love triangle, the Macross' struggle, etc) seemed to combine so well. The characters were easy to like, and rather distinct as well. I even loved the movie version.

3. Patlabor - I love this show for its realistic take at trying to make the workplace mecha plausible. The setup is so well done that the show can jump from pure hilarity to drama and even political suspense. There are very few shows that can work so much into its premise like this one.

4. Kimi ga Nozomu Eien - This is the newest addition to my list. I was rather amazed at how much plot the show squeezed into the first two episodes. With good reason though, as it was neccessary to setup a very well done show. The characters are very realistic, and you can't help but feel for them. Everyones motives are easy to understand, and the show evolves in a believable way. Even the comedy infused into the show is able to lighten the mood, without damaging it. I love the themes used throughout it as well. The ending was also heartrending yet believable. This is easily one of the few shows I've seen recently that I feel truly deserves to be one of my favorites.

5. Nadesico - While I don't hold it as fond as I used to, this show still remains. I loved the mix of sci-fi action and a subtle parody of anime fandom.

6. Escaflowne - Beautifully told, this was another show I'd watch in marathons. Escaflowne has this great mix of action with a wonderful focus on characters. The ending was also well done without going for the usual.

7. Neon Genesis Evangelion - One of, if not the first show I ever really loved. I was somehow able to follow it without being confused as so many have. It was the first show in which I felt I really understood the characters. I loved the psychological elements, and enjoyed both endings. While I have moved on, this show does hold a place of honor, and I'd easily take it over Rahxephon any day(though I like that one too, and don't really compare them).

8. Urusei Yatsura - Having long been a fan of Rumiko Takahashi, this is my favorite of her works. i love the heavy use of Japanese myth. The characters all have their lovable quirks; and the show's so weird that it never comes off as redundant.

To be honest I have to tink about the rest. There are shows like Fushigi Yugi, Utena, El Hazard and so on that I really enjoy, but am no longer sure if I'd consider them in my top 10 any more. Even some of the above like Esca and Nadesico I'm having doubts too. There's just too much I like. I might edit this later.

Bottom Five

This is much easier. While there are hundreds of shows I loved, there's little I down right didn't. Most of these I don't so much hate, more like don't bother with. Again, in no real order.

1 Hellsing - I just couldn't get into this. I found most of the characters uninteresting. Alucard(whom everyone seems to love) is just too one-dimensional. He's also too powerful, making the battles terribly predictable and boring. There was never any suspense, and I never really cared about what was happening. The ending resolved little to nothing as far as I can remember. It's hard to care when one can't connect to the characters.

2 Blue Sub no. 6 All I can really remember of this show is how much it seemed to be a CGI vehicle only. It seemed like it was only made so Gonzo could show off their talents. Also, of the fans of it I've met, only one said he enjoyed it for the story. Everyone else tells me to get a surround system. To be fair, I saw it on CN a long time ago. So it more forgettable than hateable. Still, its cast a shadow on every title I've seen by Gonzo since.

3 Dragon Ball Z Before I was an anime fan, this is what I knew of it. I hated the art style. Most of the characters were just plain unlikable, and the show is horribly redundant. Its like you've seen the whole show if you've seen one episode. This singlehandedly delayed my intrest in anime for years.

4 Bakuretsu Tenshi - Recently, I've been trying to find shows from Gonzo that I actually enjoy. So far, I've found Vandread (Nadesico clone), Full Metal Panic, Samurai 7, and Gankutsuou. Then there's Baku Ten. The characters are cliched, the episodes uninspired. Some elements are just plain uncomfortable. Worse, over ten episode in, and I still haven't figured out what they are trying to accomplish with this. The verdicts still out, but its not looking good.

5 Yu-gi-oh - Basically, its a half hour strategy guide for an over rated card game. Even Pokemon and Hamtaro have more substance then this. I know there are plenty of shows like this, but its never been this obvious that its really a commercial in disguise.

A7's Top 10 and Bottom 5

My favorite top 5

1. Tenchi OVA's
Its so funny, with some sentive feelings. This anime has a lot of heart.

2. His and her circumstance (kare kano)
Its so funny, and sweet. The characters are so well developed, and different. Animation isn't the best, but it makes up for a good story.

3. Inuyasha
Nice blend of action, humor, and comedy romance is the feudal times of Japan

4. sailor moon
I know this didn't come off well in North America, but watching the japanese verision with subtitles its actually quite funny and entartaining.

5. Dual! Parallel adventure
Probably because it was from the creators of Tenchi that I like it so much, but I thought it was a good short series.

Want to in the future: 12 kingdoms, and vandread

What are your 10 favorite and 5 least favorite anime?

Well here are my current favorties. I'm fickle, so my list is always changing.

Top Ten Favs

1~Naruto
Naruto has one thing that many anime series doesn't have in this day and age...heart. The harsh reality of not being accepted because of the fact that you are "different" from everybody else is something that many kids and adults have to deal with in this world.

2~Wolf's Rain
WR is such an emotional and beautiful series that has all the makings of a Greek Tragedy, which is why I love it. A group of heroes seeking out "paradise" and...

right before they reach it they die...

3~Fruits Basket
A very humorous series with a female heroine that isn't *gasp* annoying? Cute characters with a slice of life thrown in for good measure.

4~Chrono Crusade
I love this series because of the relationship between Rosette and Chrno. It also has a kick-a** villian.

5~The Twelve Kingdoms
12 Kingdoms had a story that completely engrossed me from the start. It's slow at times, but I never found myself bored with it. I wish that they hadn't dropped the project. I was ready for 45 more episodes ^^ !

6~Saiyuki (all)
This one is my guilty pleasure. Four bishounen heading to India to stop the revival of the youkai Gyumaoh, but always seems to get side-tracked. The character interaction is what makes this series so great imo.

7~Neon Genesis Evangelion
I cannot possibly say anything about this series that hasn't already been said except for drew me to it. The strong base of religion. And not just one religion...many were touched upon. From the Kabbalah to Christianity. A very complex series to say the least...

8~Vision of Escaflowne
Ok...I'm starting to run out of things to say -_- ...Escaflowne has an immensly beautiful story along with a beautiful music score from the very talented Yoko Kanno (who also did the music Wolf's Rain btw)

9~Fullmetal Alchemist
FMA is a series that can go dark on you rather quick. I guess that's what drew me to it in the first place.

10~Samurai Champloo
Hip-Hop style in feudal Japan. You gotta love the comedy duo Mugen and Jin ^^ .

Top Anime I Hate

1~Reign the Conquerer
First off, I would like to state the fact that I've always been fascinated with Alexander the Great. In fact, it was because of my fascination with him and his exploits that I decided to make History my major at college. Needless to say that, when I heard about this anime that was going to be aired on Adult Swim about him, I was very exicted...Boy was I disappointed. First was the historical accuracy...or the lack there of rather, but the main thing was the animation. *gag*

2~Ninja Scroll:The Movie
Too much senseless voilence and nudity. Within twenty minutes, I had already taken the movie out of my dvd player.

Believe it or not, those are the only two anime I've seen that I actually hated.

What are your 10 Favorite and 5 least favorite animes?

I find there to be a real logjam of series after #1 on my list, not to mention a few shows I was surprised I rated so highly.

1. Cowboy Bebop - Incredible soundtrack, likeable characters, and inspired ending. The episodes focusing on Spike and the syndicate in particular are some of the best in anime.
2. Sailor Moon S - I have to give credit to the series that introduced me to anime long long ago, and this season was its pinnacle. Amusing villains and the tension between the inner senshi and the newly arrived outer senshi more than make up for the monster-of-the-day filler.
3. Slayers Next - Great blend of comedy and action, few instances of filler, and the addition of one of the most entertaining characters in anime, Xellos.
4. Card Captor Sakura - The requisite Clamp entry to the top ten, CCS is cute, fun, and just plain nice to look at!
5. Escaflowne - Not your run of the mill girl-in-another-world series. Great music, as to be expected of Yoko Kanno, and heck...
Issac Newton is the villain! How can you not love that?
6. FLCL - Fun, crazy, brilliant. Another great soundtrack.
7. Ah! My Goddess OAV - Classic romance, beautiful character design. Can only hope the anime lives up to its movie and OAV predecessors.
8. Azumanga Daioh - Just plain funny! Constant laughs from beginning to end and enjoyable characters.
9. Tenchi Muyo OAV - Every now and then a harem anime rises above the aimless fan-service of its peers. Also credit to the first movie, Tenchi in Love.
10. Excel Saga - The penultimate parody series in anime. Unbelievably random, silly, and delivered at speeds that will test your subtitle reading skills.

I'm pleased that in the 9 years I've been watching anime, I have avoided the real dregs of the genre enough that I only find 3 series worth mentioning for the worst category.

3. Dragon Ball GT - Obvious choice. As irritating as the prior series' could get with horribly dragged out fights, at least they could be mildly interesting at times. If you ever need to look up the phrase "beating a dead horse" you will be sure to find a picture of this series.

2. Eiken - Why? Why was this even made? It's one thing to have mindless fan-serivce, and one thing to make every female character generously developed. Then there is giving every female character a chest the size of a compact car. If you are drawing elementary students with breasts that comprise 50% of their body weight, then you need help.

1. Narutaru - Maybe the manga is good, maybe the plot gets developed, but not in the anime. Whatever storyline they were working on is completely thrown out the window midway through the run in favor of an all out attempt to shock and disgust the viewer, which they pull off all too well. This series makes the Eva children look positively well adjusted. Bonus points for maybe the most misleading pilot episode in anime history.

What are your 10 Favorite and 5 least favorite animes?

Hellsing and Blue sub no.6 are the worst?!? that's blasphemy, how dare ye. LOL oh wellz, to each his her own. Yeah i have a few that are on my top ten. (or more like top 20) but i'm sure few of you have already seen my lists already. But of course there's always room for the bottom five:

1. Anything that is Dragon Ball Z,Sub plots and sagas are over 6 episodes long and at times 2 episodes before the actual battle scenes. *cough* Freeza saga*cough* and silly subliminal rhetoric like the Aryanesque super saiyan and one character who looks like he came outta a minstral show.

2.Colorful, poor attempt at adult humor. accompanied by the silliest intro ever to grace thine eyes.

3.Tekken the motion Picture; this game is what helped to put sony's Playstation in the limelight, but when you have lame animation, chessy voiceovers (especially the english dub) and dionsaurs running around as if the producers were capatilizing off the Jurassic park movies, Tekknen should have been taken off the shelves.

4.MD Geist Death Force: dumb story...what...! there was actually a story? If i'm not mistaken, this was the first Anime joint venture between both japanese and american companies.
(I guess That explains why CPM fell off. )

5. tie:waste and bad tastes Ninja ressurection,Kimera, Dog soldier; shadows of the past,Odin,Blue Sonnet,Z.O.E. delores and practically any Hentai.

The purpose of why this top 10 list got sticky was because people provided reason. For people who don't provide reason, I think they should get thier post deleted, just to keep the thread on topic and and won't attract more newbies from posting lists.

Well heres my top 10

10- Vampire hunter D bloodlust: simple story, great action but the battles are too short.

7-Rurouni Kenshin OVA and TV: I live in a really small place in canada to buy anime i had to do 2 hours of driving, and at that time i had no credit card to buy them on the net because i was too young and paying on the internet was impossible to my mom. So i had to download every episodes. It took me 1 year and a half to have them all. But it was worth it. The only thing i have to say that i disliked is that they should have put shishio's battle at the end.

5-Ninja Scroll, well I've only seen the film so i don't have any ideas of what it is in TV series. The film was really great and i really liked the blind guy. It was almost the same as in RK.

2- Spriggan, very, very hard to find anime. But it might be because US are the bad ones in it. Really well drawn graphics and almost everything in this looks like if it's happening or going to happen.

1- Princess Mononoke, the first one I've seen 5 years ago and made me an anime addict.I think for me it will always be the best because of the morale it contained. Thats what I really like of Hayao Miyasaki.

You are a very smart person, you have almost an identical favourite list as me!!!!

What are your 10 Favorite and 5 least favorite animes?

Whoa! 8O Gundam and Lupin are listed amongst the worst Anime? Now that's news to me. I'm not crazy about GITS2, but it's not one of my least favorites especially when i have seen far worse I.E. Humanoid,M.D.Geist,Mad Bull 34, Bounty Dog etc. But as i have always said; everyone are entitiled to their opinions (As long as it does'nt conflict with mine. )

I don't get to see so much Anime, but I'll try my best to answer a really great question :!: 8-)

Best Top 5 anime for RK@42

1)Blue Gender
It's my favorite cause it was one of the first I ever saw.
The main reason i like is the genre it's a action,horror/thriller which basically shows how un-humane we really are when everything starts to stuff up and the adaptability of the main characters to successed in leaving Earth.
The drawing techniques is well shown and music is well used.

2)Trigun
I love this Anime not because the subtitles were better the English sync, well mainly, but because this specific anime goes nicely with the saying "there is a time to play and a time work" and cause Vash is Friggin cool!! 8-)

3)Berserk
To me i didn't know what was berserk, but as i watched i got straight into it and loved every bloody scene and stare-down scene (like in western movies). The poeple that made Berserk knew how to mix emotions instantly very well!

4)Scryed
i don't have clue why i like it, maybe cause it has 20% talk scenes and 80% fighting and it is so mysterious.

5) ROD Read Or Die
To me it was unique, different and showed that book worms can be cool. It was like a bumpy road... you don't expect the unexpected to happen in the first episode right through the 3rd and final episode. i also liked it cause the fighting styles in all battles were like a dance of death :P !

Worst Top 2 Anime for RK@42

1) Shadow Skill
It just annoyed me with all its cheapness in fighting style and its obective was boring. Its pathetic ending left me stunned for a few days. The movie was also dark on TV which left your eyes getting smaller and squinting to see what was going on.

2)Perfect Blue
It wasn't that bad but still it was pretty demented and just plain Whack :?, with all the madness and unreal effects
of a big women imatating such a pretty women to being her exact duplicate and later trying to kill her, which just happenes to be a her "friend"
.
Great!!

If you guys have different opinions about the above I said please ask me Why, What and How

3. Cowboy Bebop, Great idea of Bounty hunters in space with the old western style and with characters that have a purpose.
But Silll it's really over-rated with the wave of fans wanting a second season too it.
2nd Season?
i coulda sworn that Spike dies in the end...and he's the main character.
So what would the second season be about?
I remember hearing somewhere that Cowboy Bebop wasn't orginally 26 episodes and that it actually stopped around episode 13 or something, but they decided to continue and hence the "2nd season" (episodes 14-26).

What are your 10 Favorite and 5 least favorite animes?

Give me a sixth and Witch Hunter Robin would've made that list due to it's awful pacing and boring characters.

I haven't seen too much of it though, so I still give it the benefit of the doubt like Last Exile.

Hellsing's just plain bad in my opinion though, and I've seen it twice. I can't like something if I hate the lead character.
