Toon Zone Talkback - "Shin-chan" Author Yoshito Usui (1958-2009)

Would be an interesting bumper if they did that. I personally wouldn't mind any kind of message about his passing if they tried (they had done one for Iwao Takamoto, though he was an animator/character designer at Hanna-Barbera on familiar shows like Scooby-Doo).

A show like Crayon Shinchan could easily be made after his death if the writers of said show continue to be able to turn out new adventures and scenarios week after week (hasn't stopped Doraemon).

It's awful that he went so suddenly in a tragic freak accident. I just hope he didn't suffer too much when he died and that the family he left behind can find some peace (and not get harassed by the press).

There's something else I should add.

The creator's real birth name was Yoshihito.

Update: It's Official. The Shin Chan anime is going to continue its broadcast on Asahi. Yay!!!

It's under negotiation right now. I pray that it will continue, however the people at the ANN forums suggesting that the show should end, saying it's better to let it go.

Update: We'll this is very surprising. I assume the Usui family said it's okay to continue the anime. Now only that, there's a new Shin Chan film coming up in Spring 2010.
