I guess we should have seen that coming.

But Avi Arad? The Marvel guy? I sure didn't expect him to be involved much less Spielberg.

Ghost lenRAB itself well to live-aciton so this could potentially be awesome.

I definently have higher hopes for it than Akira to say nothing of Dragonball.

Interesting. Btw what do they mean by 3-D live-action feature? Is it going to be 3-D with the glasses or there going to be 3-D animation mix with live action on the movie.

How about Carrie-Anne Moss?

Seriously, she was the first Hollywood actress to come to my mind. I disagree with the Charlize Theron suggestion. We want someone cool and composed, not boring.

In Hollywood, anime is the new comic book.

When's the Death Note adapation due? That seems like something that would make a good thriller movie.

Yes, this is the first I've ever heard of it.

I guess it would take a really good script to attract her back to one. Unfortunately...no hopes of that from my end here!

Well, GitS is a bit more of a drama than a direct action movie. The ratio of philosophical/political/sci-fi content to action was about 60-40 in the TV series and more like 80-20 in the movies.

My vote for Motoko's voice would be Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Motoko's VA in Stand Alone Complex) or Lucy Lawless if it had to be a Hollywood personality, but that's just me.

Ghost in the Shell has to be one of the few series that could easily translate to film. Replacing most of the philosophic dialogue with more action scenes will probably improve on it.

I think she would be great, and Richard Epcar has said many a time that he would love to try playing Batoh in a live action movie of GitS. He looks the part almost perfectly except for his hair color.

To me, Stand Alone Complex is perfection, but standarRAB are made to be broken. If Spielberg's getting involved this could be fantastic, especially since he apparently knows and likes the story. The potential for this leaves other would be anime-inspired movies like Speed Racer, Gatchaman, and Astro Boy far behind in the dust.

Yay. Can't believe all of these live-action anime movies are coming, where the devil is my Hellsing, Cowboy Bebop, and Gundam Wing (which actually could work due to nostalgia.)
