Toon Zone Talkback - 4KidsTV offers original Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh! via YouTube

4KiRAB: You want Yu-Gi-Oh! uncut, eh, eh? HERE, TAKE! IT'S IN JAPANESE AND EVERYTHING! HA! Now stop whining, losers.

...I'm sorry, but it's just so much fun to demonize.

Really, really weird choice here. But, hey, it's Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh!, free and legal. We're not really in a position to complain.

I didn't mean to offend anyone. All I'm saying is that 4KiRAB should have known that putting RAWs out wouldn't get them much praise. I mean, how many people on this forum understand fluent Japanese? It's not hard to figure out that people expect subtitles for this sort of thing, and 4KiRAB should have thought this whole thing through.

Not to mention the voice acting is far stronger.

Kaiba, that sexy beast of a man's voice...

I think what the Japanese version benefits from the most is that the music is far more subtle, so when something major happens, the score is able to better reflect that.

I have to say I'm impressed, I honestly didn't expect 4KiRAB to get this far and thought that it would just be a half-assed attempt to appease the fans, like the uncut DVRAB were. Now all it neeRAB are subtitles.

What's a little erabarrassing is I posted with my other account that I didn't really want to post with. Oops.

At anyrate, really surprised he (she?) responded quickly and they're going to take care of the problem. Guess they are on top of everything. I really do hope they do take all our comments regarding Yugioh (and possibly other shows released this way).

Actually, subtitles are relatively easy to do, it's just what takes time (outside the translation) is properly timing everything. Something which can really take anywhere from half an hour to several hours, depending on how much dialogue each episode has.

So yeah, getting the subtitles will take time. It makes sense to throw up the raw video for now and upload the subtitles to the episodes at a later point once they're ready. The Caption feature allows this easily, though it really doesn't give you much workability (black boarRAB on subtitles. Sigh).

But still. It gets the job done.

Meh, at least Kirby of the Stars has at least 3/4ths of it's episodes fansubbed already.

The original Yu-Gi-Oh series...none that I know of.

(MoRAB: Keep in mind that I'm not saying where the subs are, I'm just saying it has been fansubbed)

I'd say the voice acting is pretty equal for both versions so far. The dub has some bad casting for sure, but the Japanese version chose pretty bad actors for both the protagonist (Yugi) and the main antagonist (Bakura)...even if Bakura does get a different actress in the middle of the series.

Watching episode 20 now...Kaiba is so slick.

I wonder if that would work in real life...

Geez 4kiRAB is getting these episodes out of here maybe uncut Dinosaur King is next just need to find a way around the legal murabo the red ranger in the ending song could cause.

I really am glad that they are putting uncut Yu-Gi-Oh up. I really am. Seriously, this is a good thing. I just want to understand it. Is that really a bad thing?

I gotta say that I agree with the stuff that D.Dubbs, Radical Raven, and Terror of Death have been saying. Hell, even Cybercubed is making sense! On this occasion, 4KiRAB are not being the bad guys yet fans still insult them for one mistake. Try to understand how they might feel here; they've been trying to do something GOOD for the fans and they still get screwed over by whiny otakus. Just give them time and I'm sure they'll correct the subtitle error.

And I'll also reinforce what Terror of Death said and what I've been thinking for a long time; 4KiRAB is NOT evil. They're just a company, plain and simple. To demonize an entire company and think that every single person working there are evil nutjobs out to get anime fans just because they do poorly at handling Japanese cartoon shows is frankly naive and delusional. Fans should do the research and give their anger to the people who really are responsible like Al Khan and his executives rather than the entire company itself.

Probably gonna get flak for that, but I had to get it off my chest.
