Yay, another fan, welcome! :)

I've been on a bit of Hanks' marathon lately...I've watched Turner & Hooch, Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, Forrest Gump.......he's just so amazing in everything he does!

I love this man

I just rewatched Castaway - I was crying like a baby :bawl:

Welcome here, darling! I heard Tom Hanks loves Toy Story so I'm happy there's going to be a third one!

Thanks. I grew up with those kinds of sweet romances and I miss them so very much. They are SO classic, you're right! Oh, I need to watch that comparison. They really are. :sigh:

Haha, I know! When he threw the sock at it and the coke came out. :D Good times.

I have to re-watch that one, since I don't remember much. I just know it wasn't a fave of mine.

Yeah, it was really handled well

They were showing Big today so I watched. Amazing acting from Tom. When he's in the hotel room for the first time and he hears those guys shouting outside, he sits on the chair and look so scared, really like any 13-year-old alone would look like. Amazing.

I think I like both almost equally, with a bit of leaning more towards his dramas, as well. He's just so cute in his comedies, and since he started out in comedy with his show and all the others he'd appeared on, he just took his comedic talent to the big-screen. But when he showed he could do drama, he didn't hold back - he was amazing! :thud: Though, if you look at his comedy, there's moments where you can tell he'd make a great dramatic actor as well. I also like the movies that bridge both the comedic and dramatic moments. Let's face it, you really can't go wrong when it comes to him.

I like those you listed. And I'd have to add The Green Mile as well. And for a mixture of both, The Terminal.

Never been in this thread before, but I LOVE Tom Hanks, he's one of my favourite actors. Definitely in a league of his own

Some news, also:

I am so excited for Toy Story 3, it's unreal!

Ray, I'm glad to see you also liked The Terminal. I thought Tom's performance was very endearing. I think they handled the entire movie taking place in an airport really well too.

That sounds like a good plan, ROCKSTAR. :)

Hmm, I think his drama.

To list some:

Catch Me If You Can
Road to Perdition
Apollo 13
Forrest Gump
Philadelphia
Sleepless in Seattle

Angels & Demons is better than The Da Vinci Code, I hope the movie is too.

I haven't watched this in so long! :sigh: He was great here.

live4ska, welcome to :ff: and the thread.

Aww, that's great. I still haven't watched that all the way through. Not really my kind of movie, but it's Tom Hanks, so I got it, lol.

You're welcome, Tina. :)

Thanks.

I'd been wanting to start an appreciation thread for his movies for quite some time now, so ta-da! :D

Do you guys prefer his comedies or dramas?

Tom Hanks is my all-time favorite actor! I thought this would be a nice place to discuss and rave about all his movie productions. :) So, who else is a fan, and what are your favorite Tom movies/roles?
