TMNT Talkback "Turtles Forever" (Spoilers)

Which is why I said "previously on", instead of "last time" ;) -- season 1 is the only thing we know definitively happened in its entirety, so it's what I'm counting as my baseline.
 
I really enjoyed this. It was great and 2003 Raph kept cracking me up as much as he really wanted to smack the 80's Turtles and their goofyness.

I really didn't like how they showed that the 80's Turtles were all goof balls. Not all the time they were goofy.

LOL! 80's Raph kept talking off screen and Hun finally said, "Who are you talking to!? Quit doing that!"

The biggest surprise was when they met the original Ninja Turtles from the comics. Awesome! I LOL when 2003 Raph said, "I like these guys!":D
 
This was a great movie. Loved how everyone interacted with each other. I don't even really remember the 80s Turtles series, I mean I had a action figure and some TMNT bed sheets, but for some reason it felt good seeing them again.
 
Pretty good special, it was nice seeing some of the classic villains such as Shredder and Krang in their original form, but as a whole I didn't get too much into the story because I found it a little boring. I look at this as a nostalgia project meant to bring in viewership of classic TMNT fans, and I hope it did well for itself but I don't see myself buying this in the near future due to it being a tad boring to me.
 
You know... for a moment I completely forgot the first episode of BTTS showed that. Silly me. Still... quite a shame that the one idea they seemingly kept from that FF season was Shrinking Serling.
 
I can't think of any other. The movie had a better plot than the second one, and time travel is nothing out of the ordinary for the Turtles. Seeing a movie in ancient Japan was a fun idea.

It also had some fairly decent fight scenes and character development moments for both Raph and Mike.
 
For the comic universe, sure, as the Turtles fight and kill Shredder there instead of the other Turtles throwing garbage at him to knock him off a building.

For the 2k3 universe, all this story still happens obviously, and Ch'rell is dead. Most likely the Foot will disband yet again without their master, Karai made peace with the turtles and Hun is doomed to be a mutant turtle forever.

For the original cartoon universe its a bit more tricky, but perhaps the Technodrome reverts back to its old self, yet all the characters still remember what happened?
 
This film was really great. This is the first time that I can't hate my CW station for airing it early.
It looks like Viacom's already on the Turtles arses since you can see the name 'Viacom Interrnational' in the ending credits at the bottom of the screen and at the bottom of one of the scenes in the commercial talking about Turtles Forever being broadcasted next Saturday.
I'm guessing Turtles Forever will be shown in its individual three parts huh?

Everybody else reprised their roles. Hun, by the way, was played by Greg Carey, which leaves me...very confused. I simply have no idea what's going on with the voice acting for the character any more.
 
The only thing that bugged me about this was at the end it was said that 2k3 Shredder will return even though his entire body was obliterated.
 
OMG tmnt 3 is only good in comparison to the coming out of their shells tour. Just, ugh, I don't even want to get into why I hate that one.

The Next Mutation was awesome though for a tv show version. I forgot it existed actually but yeah next mutation was the original TMNT revival... oops... I wish they'd try to do a live action tmnt now again... but ugh I'm kind of tired of tmnt honestly.
 
Finally got to watch my tape last night... and was pleasantly surprised.

'87 Turtles were a lot goofier than I seem to remember... '87 Donatello was the biggest surprise, because I thought he was as smart as '03 Donatello. Shows how much I really remember about the old show. I did love '03 Michelangelo loving the '87 gang... until he too got annoyed at them being goofy in a serious moment.

Back to the '87 show... it kinda feels weird to remember that April really did need to be saved from something every episode. Came with the fact that most of the time she did put herself into those situations, of course.

Loved the ending... Bebop and Rocksteady end up saving the day? That's so like them. Good job, fellas.

And was the Mirage Shredder really that weak? To be defeated by trash (and trash cans)? And here we were thinking the '87 Shredder is incompetent...

A great tribute movie for the 25th Anniversary of the TMNT. So many homages, so little time... but handled well-enough given the time constraints. Hats off to the entire creative staff for a great adventure!
 
Except TMNT4kids on The Technodrome said this was supposed to happen before The Shredder Wars so Ch'rell is not dead. And I believe he also said Turtles Forever was going to be used as an explanation as to how Ch'rell came back from his exile.

And why would it only reset one universe and not all of them? How does that make sense? No, actually I think because it was 2K3 Shredder that the 2K3 universe may still retain all that happened in Turtles Forever and would have continued as such and eventually we'd see The Shredder Wars. But only because he was the cause of the multiverse collapsing but then again I'm more of a fan of the concept that it's all restored to the status before the 88 characters showed up in the 2003 universe. But until we have word from someone official it's all plausible.
 
Yeah, Mirage Shredder was about as strong as any typical thug that the other Turtles go up against on a regular basis.

The only difference was that he had a large number of ninjas at his command.
 
Finally saw it this morning.

It was a tad long, but worth the wait. It was nice to see the contrasting styles of the multiple versions of the Ninja Turtles.

No, the '80's Turtles weren't as silly as they were portrayed here, but I don't think it was meant to be disrespectful as some have stated; I think the writers were laughing along with the overall cartoonish nature of the '80's show. (80's Shredder, however, really was that silly.)

I have to say it: the modifications that 2K3 Shredder made to the Technodrome were really cool. And I had to chuckle at how Krang was anticipating that there'd be a version of him in the 2K3 timeline, only to be disappointed.

I wasn't expecting the nod to the original black-and-white comics. The 2K3 Turtles questioning why Prime Leo was narrating while they were all fighting was just as funny as Hun expressing his outrage at 80's Raph making one-liners to the audience, which he of course can't see. The contrast between the 80's and 2003 versions of Don and Raph were hilarious.

Overall, I enjoyed it. For those who thought that April and Casey's wedding wasn't a fitting way to end the 2003 series should be satisfied now. Way to go out with a bang, guys. Thanks for the memories. :)
