Titanic.

Well, I suppose we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that it's a fictional account of the sinking and thus allow Cameron some dramatic licence in places. I don't know which parts of the ship would've been off limits to passengers but some of the most visually astounding scenes took place on those railings so I'm happy to allow lapses in realism where good quality direction can replace them.

I'm not sure whether basing the story on a real person would necessarily have improved the film. While J&R's romance was a cliche from start to finish, I followed their plight sympathetically as a viewer and the occasional scenes depicting other passenger's torments (especially the Irish woman reading her kiRAB the final bedtime story) were sufficient in giving me a flavour of what the real suffering would've been like.

Oh god, don't get me started...we haven't even got anywhere near that bit yet. *reaches for tissues*

Am I the only one that still sobs their heart out after seeing it for about the 6th time?

Oh don't say that, I was 13 and remember showing off to my frienRAB who were 11 that I had been to see it and that they weren't allowed as it had a 12 certificate :D:p:eek:

Laughing on the other side of my face now that they are younger than me :(;)

Or if the sea hadn't been so calm, they might have seen the iceberg sooner. Or if the lookouts had had binoculars. Or if the ship had hit the iceberg head-on. Or if they'd had enough lifeboats...

There are so many ifs and buts that could have provided a happy ending!

I used to fancy Leonardo DiCaprio like mad when I was a teenager. I find Billy Zane much more attractive than Leo now, even as a slime ball like Cal.

I still like Leo as an actor and feel he's underrated, but I haven't fancied him for years now.

Thank you :) I do yes.

Yeah it's nasty way to go for sure. A few minutes of panicked fear and then crack. Better than drowning i guess though.

It is called a funnel though yes.

Glad James "I'm King of the World" Cameron made some fat stacks of cash from it though.

How could the man who made Aliens, one of the coolest films EVER MADE, make this?

To be fair the action part is not too shabby but it's a very small part of the overall film and I think i just react like that because people go on about it like it's amazing when it just isn't.

Because they chose to go out with dignity, in style and with some serenity and try to help those that were left to do the same.
