Titanic.

She must have done. Dont forget her grandaughter was with her on the modern day ship so she must have had at least one child and in those days, it wasnt often that a child was born out of wedlock....

Just to be anal - That's actually Alien, the first one, that was directed by Ridley Scott. Although that scene is repeated in various incarnations with other characters in this film.

Can't believe it's been 10 years since it was released. I've lost count of how many times I've watched it now. :o

The storyline is crap and so is the script, but it's still the most tear-jerking film I've ever seen. The ending in particular never fails to reduce me to tears. :(

Oh this is the first time I've seen this film in YEARS! I remember being 8 when this film came out - and I REALLY REALLY wanted to see it! I saw it on holiday with my dad in a pub that was showing it on pirate! And when it came out on video, I remember watching it sometimes twice every day!! I was obsessed with it.. :o

Bringing back memories now! I'm watching it with subtitles and am surprised to see how many things they've said that I thought they said, which are actually different!

I know I'm gonna be off at the end though... :(

Ahhh what titanic was on tonight? Darn! Oh well I have it on dvd.

Titanic has a beautiful story but it's flawed with really contrived characters, especially Cal. He only needed a thin mustache he could twiddle to finish off the look. I love titanic but I prefer the notebook as it's better scripted and more realistic.. ironically it's not even based on a true story.

I assume because she didn't want anyone else to have it, make money out of it etc? Just leave it in peace at the bottom of the ocean like all those lives that were lost.

To me, that was one glaring error.

Although throughout the film, Cal was the antagonist, always depicted as the evil menace pulling Rose back, he was always shown as being clever as well - remember how he framed Jack?

Surely if he wanted to find Rose, he would have got a copy of the survivor list as well as just looking. "Rose Dawson"...doesn't take a genius to figure out who that probably is.

Jack and Rose are really just one big device to help the audience feel more about the 1,500 people who died.

people are far more likely to empathise with characters they feel they've come to know, than they do for faceless bodies.

and for my money it worked - whilst some of the dialogue earler in the film might not have been the best the last hour must be one of the most well produced, dramatic, and right at the end, very emotional pieces of modern cinema.

Actually why they never made the 'watertight bulkheaRAB' go all the way to the ceiling and thus actually rendering the compartments properly watertight was an extremely fatal flaw in the design. 'Unsinkable' she was not. However the size of the gash along the side of the ship meant that all bets were off anyway.
