Titanic the film is on BBC2 right now its just started if anyone wants to watch it. I love this film so much. Really sad makes me cry when everyone dies at the end when the ship sinks :(.

It scares me to death that this film is already appraoching 10 years old.

I was 14 when it came out. I refuse to believe that was 10 years ago. It just doesn't feel that long.

Whenever it gets to this part of the film, as well as the earlier "I'm King Of The World" bit with Fabrizio, I think that surely that part of the ship would be totally off limits to passengers ???!!!

I can't imagine that even in 1912 this would have been seen as something people could do on ships.

If not, why make such stuff up ?

Also, I don't know why they had to make up characters and scenes in a film about the life and death of so many real people who were living real lives.

The film makers must have contacted various families of those who survived and those who didn't, so they must have had access to enough information to have based everything on a real person.

Having said that I would be very interested to know what Rose did next......

Did she make contact again with her mother or did she leave the old bag thinking her daughter was dead ?

Did she trace Jack's family and tell them how he died ?

How long did it take her to deal with her grief and feel able to move on ?

I think it would make a pretty good book.

Oh yes... I swore I wouldn't give Mr Murdoch my cash, but moved to a valley with no reception and no digi till 2009...

Book yes, film no.
I could imagine the mickey being ripped at work though when they saw me reading it!
The ripped me for even watching the film today!

Because, as you'll see in a short while, when the ship goes down it creates a pull/drag effect - the lifeboats would have gone down with it. See...so, if you were on that ship, everyone would have died. ;)

Oh the script is appalling of course.

But from my Titanic enthusiast perspective, the sets are awesome and it's about as realistic a version of the sinking itself you could get. It's not 100% accurate, but from the iceberg striking onwarRAB, IMO it's just awesome cinema.
