Because you take a point to the farthest possible outcomes where it doesn't even make sense. You are bound to your ideologies and I'm bound to reality.

Look: if salt can be harmful, tell people that. Get some kind of 'general surgeon' to make announcements or something. It's not like you have to eat salt.

OH NOES it comes in processed foods. You should eat less of those anyway. ASK corporations that make the junk to put less of it in the lower-end market that the financially challenged or lazy consume.

Other people...learn how to fucking cook already.

Onto the next problem.

Every restaurant uses them? You have to by buy food out of a box? You are forced to buy that garbage?

This is exactly what people are doing I don't buy their product. And the salt industry is mad at the people telling others not to buy their product. All I'm saying is that's the fucked up part

You didn't read did you?

Didn't say that. It IS the usual course of action though.

Don't eat salt if you don't want it. Leaves more for me.

So, where's the citation for the "150,000 people a year" killed by salt?

My ideology is bound to reality, and you're bound to continually post stupid, nonsensical shit. Incidentally, I and several others here are bound to keep pointing it out to you on a regular basis.

Michelle Obama isn't trying to legislate, she is trying to educate. That's what I have been saying all along.

What is fucked up is that the salt industry is actually trying to fight back

Sure. Combine that with his refusal to post his own picture, and hanging out in the picture thread bashing people based on how they look, and the psychoanalysis becomes...

And that's a completely logical and reasonable answer?

Yea let me produce my own grain, peanut butter, jelly, tuna, raise my own chickens.

You are an ideologue. You need to incorporate reality and pragmatism into your belief system or you will be cast aside and thought of as a fool.

So?

According to your article, it's the salt producers that responded and defended their product. And the industry itself, the industry that creates all of the high-sodium processed foods, it all serves a purpose for lazy people. It doesn't take a genius to realize that frozen foods and other processed foods are bad for you. It usually doesn't even taste very good. If Michelle Obama or whoever wants to get people to consume less salt, they should go and buy real foods -- fresh produce and meats. But that's up to the consumer.

But let's get to my main point, do you remember me posting earlier about the other main causes of death in this country? Tobacco kills 3 times the number of people than salt is expected to. But nothing is done, and hardly anyone cares. So let's be realistic -- it's pointless to attack the "salt industry". If you want to save lives, attack mcdonalds or any of the food manufacturers that create food that make people obese, because it's costing taxpayers a lot of money, and it's killing over 300k people a year, more than 2x the amount salt kills.

Attacking salt is utterly pointless and stupid. Most importantly, it's an un-winnable battle.

Well yeah.

Salt is not evil. REPEAT that until you finally get it through your thick head.
