This is England 86 (Spoilers)

Yes I have seen Myserious Skin an astouningly moving film and incredible performance from Joseph Gordon Levit.

The scene you mention (along with several others in the film) was horific and like you say very hard to get out of your system.

It seems a tad tactless to point score about which rape scene was worse.

What I will say is that both of these scenes (tie6 and Mysterious skin)left me shaken to my core, as they bloody well should have done. Seeing any portrayal of someone being violated is always a deeply uncomfortable experiance.

The Mysterious Skin rape scene and TIE86 scene are very different I would say equally graphic but more so what they have in common is they highlight how much rape is about power and degredation.
Both Greg Araki and Shane Meadows did their job well but I have no desire to watch either scene ever again.

I think she told Kelly about what he did to her and Trev, as Trev was there too and they were all huddled together.

I thought it was a brilliant episode. Felt sorry for Lol though!...Especially as he

tried to rape her again!
(In spoiler tags in case people still haven't seen it, even though it says spoilers in the thread title, it can't hurt to put more tags)

I also think Lol told Woody about what her dad had been doing to her. Anyone else think this?

That was horrible. With the warning in mind, as soon as I saw Lol's dad packing a bag my heart was going, and then when I saw Lol...aw no, aw no, aw no *chokes* and then I think I was too horrified to cry during the actual scene, I started crying when Combo was telling Lol 'what happened' and didn't stop til, kind of now-ish. Wow. Awful. Brilliant.

Dragging out the Shaun/Smell/toilet scene was a bit bizarre. I mean, we already had the scene last week. Weird. & I think the ep could've been longer, like the aftermath and all that. Stunning though, even so. I'm still shaking a little.

Damm those english council flats back then are depressing

Still really enjoying the show. Good performances

I hope to see more battles with the scooter gang

SSSShhhh its started :D:D

Yes its a series, same writer as film, really good characters that suck you in.

Hardly very pleasant. I really like her style, but I don't think the haircut suits her face shape. Doesn't matter though, because she's cool anyway. I have seen the actress in real life and she looks quite different and very pretty. That's also her real accent.

I think all the actors do a grand job in this and (one or two concerns aside) I am enjoying it. I think that some of my concerns will probably be addressed in the next two episodes and the rest, I guess I'll get over. I'm looking forward to next week.

Combo's conversation with Milky at the end of the film confirms this, he was just looking to belong. Perhaps prison gives him that :(

I remember Park Hill Flats. I also remember Hyde Park flats and wasn't there also Kelvin Flats as well?

I also used to get them mixed up. :o

Which were the ones that were just up the hill behind the train station?

I was gutted when I heard that the Hole in the Road has gone.

I think a lot of the Sheffield I once knew, including clubs and pubs on West Street has now sadly gone.
