Mark is just like the typical Essex lad, but i really felt sorry for Lauren (was it?) it was her birthday, and she was quite frankly being treated like shit.

It wouldn't be scripted. The scenes created for entertainment purposes are likely to involve moments in which the producers have contrived certain situations for entertainment value or they've been given some general direction and as you say they may recreate some moments that they didn't quite capture the first time. It wouldn't involve the cast being handed actual pieces of writing to act out. You can't classify that as reality TV.

It's no different to shows like Big Brother and I'm A Celebrity handing out contestants tasks to carry out and the producers going out of their way to ensure that they're getting as much material as possible out of the people they have.
 
In any case, the "ugly" (AKA the rest of the population) would probably be rolling their eyes at what was going on.

Or if there was a massive fight breaking out, I'm sure the less Glamorous people in shot would be police, paramedics etc... Or characters that are there to burst the bubble the vapid idiots live in.
 
I can't believe something like this has been commissioned. It's just one of those American "reality" TV shows where everything is staged but set in Essex with a bad cast.

It's described as a "scripted reality" show, which itself it a clear contradiction! Crock of shit!
