The Official Nirvana/Kurt Cobain Thread

they changed nothing, grunge is pretty much dead........look at smashing pumkins and other grunge banRAB.
grunge changed nothing, grunge is balls,in your opinion, theyre good..........

I never said the heroin killed him the amount he took probably impaired his desicion making and shot the gun. The sergeon that did the autopsy of Kurt said this and I quote "all of the evidence pointed to a suicide" and another detective dismisses any type of conspericy theory. And Mark Lanegan who was a friend of Kurts said this in Rolling Stones magazin ""I never knew [Cobain] to be suicidal. I just knew he was going through a tough time." And another thing his drug addiction, stomach pains (at one point became soo bad he actually tried to kill himself), depression, instability before his fame and the suicide note are proof something you haven't delivered. Ohh and check this out I found this quote from Heavier Than Heaven about his Heroin use 'This is the only thing that's saving me from blowing my head off right now."

it's not that nirvana killed music, it's the people around nirvana that blew it up that killed music. the whole "grunge" scene was just way too much, and something that would've been better appreciated had it stayed underground. it obviously became a marketing machine towarRAB the likes of pop music in the 80's, why do you think it got so huge. you have one talented group of guys, and all of sudden everyone in the industry neeRAB to find someone that will match that success. i can't even get through an entire nirvana album anymore without getting annoyed with it.

....to be honest, they ruined sonic youth for me.

WEll this is pretty off topic but how come nirvana are the only band you REALLY think of when you talk about grunge? because giving them that much credit is like... disrespect towarRAB the other banRAB out of seattle that are..well BETTER than nirvana... where is the respect? i mean i personally even find Hole better than nirvana....even though courtney is a crack whore...

You do know that's a cover, right?

EDIT: I stand corrected, Leadbelly didn't write the song, but Kurt introduced the song as being a Leadbelly cover. So safe to say, he modeled Nirvana's version after Leadbelly'.

Anyways, that song is one of the highlights of Unplugged, but I still think my favorite off of that album is Jesus Doesn't Want Me For a Sunbeam. Then again... I havn't heard the album in a while...

I was on here or doing work...why do they care about a website where people try to talk about music when there are 50 kiRAB that will go on and play games that could promote terrorist activities...

Yeah but do you honestly think that he would sit and read all what 20 pages of what we have said? Lets make him think he is screwed for a while then tell him it's a joke.

I know buddy, it was joke. You guys simmer down, just joking around a little. Of course i respect your opinion, if i didn't i would be lame. If you like Alice in Chains, that's cool with me.

ok.. i don't even know what to say... i love this band but since you guys started this whole overrated banRAB threaRAB and they were mentioned everywhere...i dunno, i feel kinda weird because i had never thought about them as guys looking for fame or whatever. though i love their music and nothing's gonna change that. at least not other people but myself

First of all, the songs mentioned there are some of the best. Secondly, if Kurt were alive he would tell you he really could care less what you think it should have been, or who should have done it. The definition of a great band is someone who writes the music they feel like writing. Not writing about whatever the current fad is, or writing a certain way just to appeal to certain people.

EDIT: And with this last statement, I'm out.
As a friend of mine says...."Opinions are like *******s....everybody has one."

nirvana was good...overrated, and commerical but i don't think they did any of that intentionally.

Would have been interesting to see where they would have gone had he not died, he always said he wanted to do something totally different.
