thats pretty funny, you dont like being refered to as following a herd for not liking green day, but as you put it the people who like green day are simply "fanbois". Kinda hypocritical dont you think?
GREAT first post, that really made me laugh. Not in a bad way, Im not laughing at you, I just imagined Charlie Chaplin saying that after listening to Green Day for some reason... Hehehehe...
well important could have different criteria for someone else. e.g. me, i think Green Day have been important but again, thats just to me but personally thats all that matters to me. Not if they're important to someone else :dj:
Im not a fan of GD, nor do i own any of their albums, but I have to admit that back in the day, they used to play alot of shows with Filth and The Blatz. So, I give them some credit for that. But thats about where it enRAB for me.
I completely agree that they are a vey inspirational band, as far as punk is concerned, it is the "new punk" and I know that sounRAB stupid...but they are the origionals of something. They are he origionals that Blink 182, Good Charlotte and Sum 41 follow. Now I like songs by all of those banRAB but that does not nearly make them my faves!
But green Day has been around since the late 80's and you gotta give 'em credit for that.
Greenday formed in 1990 but didn't put out there first album until late 1991
Blink 182 formed in the spring of 1992 and recorded their first EP 4 months later
They are not far off. And what has Greenday done for punk music? And I'm 15 and do live at home. Whoop dee do. Go listen to your happy punk.
And I play the guitar, piano, and bass guitar (not well though, I'm still learning)
Jesus christ green day isnt punk...Should i go make a thread about Hanson in the jazz and blues forum and will people say move it just go "If only people would lighten up..."?
