The Official Green Day Thread

i only say these things because its annoying that Ive heard less narrowminded insults from people i go to college from, and they are utter philistines that believe it is cool to say the worRAB "bruv" and speak what can only be described as chav english. im sure YOU can also do better.

No, I'd say Madonna was the major influence and Britney is her by-product, and yes, Britney will have an influence on th ekiRAB listening and looking up to her.

Well this what i've read on various message boarRAB over time (this question is asked loaRAB).The fourth guitarist is Jason white. For the second question, im just assuming its because its more fun sometimes to play without your guitar and jump around and sing, or because the song only neeRAB one guitar and he doesn't want to have his strapped around his neck if hes not going to play it.

I hate these "Official ThreaRAB". What makes this so official? Is it because this is the ONLY THREAD ON GREEN DAY? That's a rule anyways. You aren't supposed to have more than one thread on the same damn band anyways. Every thread should be considered an "original". Why are you so special?

eh, not really. I mean you're really limiting yourself to either genre or instrumentation at that point.

If they had played that melody on something other than a guitar I'd bet they'd have gotten away with it. If I ever have the mojo to pull off a band, I wouldn't have a guitar in it (excluding bass).

Went to see Green Day live last year for the first time. A two and a half hour spectacle and one I will not forget in a hurry. Personally, not a huge fan of their old stuff very inconsistent but I know I will get a lot of criticism from people who claim they have "sold out" now. They put on one hell of a show!

I took a trip down nostalgia road and listened to a few of their songs yesterday, coincidentally this thread gets bumped.

I was obsessed, and it eroded, etc. I do think some of their stuff is still great, but for the most part I've come to find them rehashing themselves (especially in the very early stuff... Even though my favorite album comes from that period).
