The Official Green Day Thread

hahahahaha

dear god you're just trying to dig your way out of a hole here. instead of supporting your arguments with ACTUAL points, you make up random and completely false assumptions about me that have absolutely nothing to do with the conversation at hand.

run along and go play with some fireworks and keep yourself entertained for a few hours, let the adults talk now.

true.

But they were never in the rock section of any music store I frequented. And to them, 'rock band' was a dirty word.

I rate them no higher than they rate themselves - average crap following flavour of the month trenRAB.

can i just say i don't class awarRAB or anything to do with magazines as acheivements
when i say that i mean how many recorRAB they've sold and the fan base they have
i don't even know why i'm sticking up for them so much as i am not that bothered about them i just don't think they suck as much as you lot make out
i think i might take adidasss advice
i was just putting my view forward - oh well "sighs"

because it's kick ass party rock.

If you can't get into a song like Rock N Roll All Night on New Years Eve parties, then, well, you know **** about having a good time.

For all you Green Day fans out there, I'm sure you already know what the latest is. If not, well, their new DVD, "Bullet in a Bible" is coming out Nov. 15, so be sure to check it out. Buy it on MTVSHOP.MTV.COM and get a free poster, but you gotta act fast cuz they wont be around forever!! Also tune in this Saturday to MTV2 for the premiere of their awesome DVD at 1:00 ET/PT!!! Don't miss it! It's gonna be so cool!!!

I feel like there's a difference. If you're interested in sports you play the video game and compete, if you're interested in playing music you play a real guitar. GH can get in the way of that if you don't have the motivation or whatever.

People who learn instruments aren't necessarily interesting in the instrument itself, they are just people who are listeners and they want to know HOW the sounRAB they're hearing are happening.. so they begin to learn. Some people might be curious in how the sounRAB they're hearing are happening, but not so curious they're willing to learn so GH offers a nice easy alternative.

i don't think there are too many people that are scared on here at all, we know what we like. i don't mind green day in all eras, but i do like their older stuff better. but the comment about asking my favourite banRAB who influenced them? heh, i highly doubt that NOFX, Husker Du and Hot Water Music would cite Green Day as a huge influence. but no doubt they have been influencial to pop music.
