Pretty surprised to see Schindler's List that low. I don't have a problem with it, really, but it's surprising.

I think we'll have some pretty crazy stuff in the top 30-40 or so.

Probably the case of being someone's favorite film, which gave it a huge boosting, but it is what it is.

Based on that, it sounds like someone who hasn't seen it should watch it because they could find it very powerful. It's certainly a major film, at least for people who want to consider themselves film buffs.

I haven't seen either one of them either. Will add more to the ever-growing netflix queue.

100. The Crow (1994, Proyas)

Total Points Earned: 32
Compared to Previous List: 64 spots

Black Hawk Down wasn't on my list but I can definitely see how it made it into the top 100... it is an awesome film...

One-fifth of the way through and not one film from my list. Plus, that last one there is really pushing it. Seriously people, Titanic?

Yep. Or in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf's case, all it takes is a very high ranking on a list from mark and sarah f.

I think people factor in watchability in their top 10. I've seen almost all of the films in my top 10, like, at least four to five times, and I basically feel ready to watch any of them again at any time except for 2001 and The Sacrifice.

That being said, Schindler's List is not an especially fun film.

^ Is this... Sonatine?

That is a huge surprise though. I guess it had the usual potential to become "mad popular" because of the fun humor and genre subversion. Always increases accessibility. Yet, though I haven't seen any other Kitanos, I'm pretty sure that they are all half-comedies, correct? Also, he was pretty funny in Battle Royale the short time he was in it.

Love Black Hawk Down. Million Dollar Baby is another one I'm really ashamed I haven't seen.

Yeah, it's one of my favorites. And raul, I noticed in another thread that you were a Billy Wilder fan and personally I think Double Indemnity is easily his best film. Definitely a genre essential if not anything else.

Looking forward to this. I guess I didn't get my top 100 in before this all started.
