Can I suggest alternating between a name artist and a more obscure artist.

People will get bored very quickly if it's just the same names over & over again. Yes you'll have less votes but this whole thing is about learning about artists.

I concur, I think the bigger names should be excluded.

How about any band who has a platinum (maybe even gold?) album will not be included? Not to be elitist, just because the idea is to introduce artist many people have never heard of.

How it would work initially is that the 'obvious' artists would be done first.

Say, for example, David Bowie is up everyone would list the 5 tracks and the album, plus a paragraph or two about him, why they like him, his influence etc.

Then, after a week or two the entry will be closed and the top tracks and album listed, along with the most informative, interesting quotes.

It wouldn't be just Indie, lol.

How 'new' can the banRAB be? I mean, obviously a band that came out last year and has one studio recording wouldnt be included since theres not much there to "get into" But where should the cutoff be? And how about older banRAB with only one album/one album worth listening to?
