The Most Overrated Movies ever

Some will disagree with me, but I go for The Deer Hunter. Apart from the russian roulette scene, the film will stay with me as one that had an all star cast but was suffering from a vast need to chop the running time. I should perhaps give it another go and see if I was wrong first time round....

Other films I find overrated:

Titanic
Drunken Master 1 and 2 (Jackie Chan)
The Shining
The Italian Job (original)

I`ll agree on the Shrek films!! ok to watch the once but more than that nah wont really bother!!!

But Burton movies!!! love them, well apart from Planet Of The Apes!! i hated the originla too but this jsut had a very stupid ending!!
But i have really liked Depp this past year!! Pirate of The Caribiean (sp) he was wonderful in that and i will say i loved Charlie And The Chocolate Factory! he was jsut fabulous and was more to the book than the Gene Wilder one that i didnt like and looking at the special features on the Dvd the Dahl family backed it too as they were joint producers of the film!!

I went right through the thread before doing my post on impulse and I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned...

King Kong - that crap-filled CGI-fest disappointed on so many levels and add to that 3 hours of my life that I will never be able to get back.

Peter Jackson you tw*t

Lord Of The Rings Trilogy
Any Harry Potter Movie
Lost In Translation

How can anyone think that American Beauty, Forrest Gump or The Shawshank Redemption are not good films? Blasphemy!

Paddy :D

Matrix Home-erotic geek wet dream.

Revenge of the Sith Considering how good this film could easily have been, it just sucked balls.

American History X stupid film. Offended me

Wolf Creek!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a complete pile of arse!!!!! not that the film it self is bad, it's the ending!!! which i won't put up here, as some people might still want to watch it!!!???? Christ knows why though!!!!!! :D

God yes, what a load of old tosh and quite nasty ina subliminal way. It was awful. Also, the English Patient. what a dreary lot of old crap that was. Also, I agree about Harry Potter....just special effect after special effect............yawn. I liked the 2nd film though...had a bit of humour in it..Dobby the house elf and moaning Myrtle......hanging around in the u-bend and thinking about death. I know how she feels.

The Exorcist - What a load of guff. Even when it was first released I thought it was mince.

It was slated at the time cos of the rteligious aspects as muich as what the film contained.

It is deathly dull, awful dialogue and indifferent overacting.
