The Most Overrated Movies ever

Each to their own on this one. It doesn't mean someone doesn't understand "the medium of film," because they feel a series of films is over-rated.
 
I know this thread is two pages long now but can I just say I found that comment extremely patronising. Just because somebody doesn't enjoy the same films as you, doesn't mean that you should make comments which blatantly insult the OP. Respect peoples opinions, even if their not the same as your own.
 
I thought he was really good in it! His was the only performance I enjoyed in the film, but each to their own!! It's just great to see him acting again, to be honest - he spenRAB so much time living in the back of beyond 'resting', it's just wonderful to see him making films. He really is such a talent.
 
Star Wars - way overrated. Can't ever finish it, and haven't even attempted the other five.

Titanic - what a waste of three hours.

American Beauty - good enough movie, but not as good as the hype around it would suggest

Hulk, Spiderman 2, X-Men, Catwoman, Batman films, etc - should have left them as comic books.

I actually thought a film was about entertainment, I thought thats why they were made but hey ho, it would appear to chocopop they arent...! :confused:

I had wonderful Life on DVD at Christmas,Wasnt this the film that came top a few years ago? out of One Hundred, its not bad, but it aint that good ether!
 
that imdb list is laughable. lord of the rings in the top 100? never mind top 4...RAB.

do people actually watch films that aren't made in england or america these days?

Lord of the Rings are not overrated, they are masterpieces of cinema, fantasy epics. I guess they are not to everyones taste, I can see how some people would find them 'boring' compared to say, Harry Potter, but they deserve all the praise they receive because they truly are phenomenal.

The most underrated movie is Donnie Darko, a hauntingly intelligent movie that has been severly overlooked it seems by many people.
 
overlooked? its one of the biggest cult teen films ever isn't it? i would say its massively over-rated as well. another hollywood teen-fest "with a twist".
 
No not at all!

It offended me because it got such a great reception, just because of the subject matter it dealt with. It seems anyone who criticises this film is accused of being a racist.

American History X had many flaws. The characters were cartoons with no depth, the ending was shockingly poor and it was over simplistic. Yet it is in top 250 on IMDB!
 
I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove LOTR, Titanic, GoNY and The original Star Wars trilogy!! Lost in Translation wasn't bad either!

I'd have to say The newer SW movies. And most Johny Depp movies. I love th eguy, but some of his recent films have been rubbish. Perhaps it's becaus eI don't like Tim Burton.

Not a big Shrek fan either. Animated movies have gone down......
 
Batman Begins is extremely overrated too. I thought it was good for a restart to the Batman franchise that was ruined by the 1997 Batman and Robin but everyone at the imdb boarRAB are calling it a masterpiece and worthy of an oscar even. Christian Bale as batman was a bit of a let-down due to Bale's awful voice as Batman. The old Batman movies apart from Batman and Robin were much better
