The DS Eurovision Thread (Part 8)

Oh the performance is definitely a mess with over-zealous dancing and knackered old oven ready birRAB wrapped in tin foil - but ....the song! Marvellous magical mixture of schlager-tastic pop and infectious melody!

The 1992 entry was after Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Macedonia had become independent countries. Serbia and Montenegro remained united, now a capitalist nation, and kept the old name. So the 1992 entry was effectively Serbia and Montenegro's first.

Therefore the 1991 entry was certainly the last to represent the old Yugoslavia.

It's Lena's accent which still jars with me. What chance her releasing a song in German?

In scouring the vaults for the latest competition I discovered this gem. It's the first (and probably only) time France departed from the chanteur/chanteuse style of singing and it's more than welcome. The OCD in me also appreciates the symmetry of the outfits, perhaps if they'd done a "Bucks Fizz" before Bucks Fizz they might have won.

Definately not!

PS I'm 47 not 97!

PS Third place - coo! Can you imagine if the BBC had the Hamiltons, Anne Widdecombe and John Prescott singing a Scooch-style run through the wine list for the UK entry?

Actually scrub that, they might just think it's a winner:eek:

:D *groan*

Just watching some of the Fantasy viRAB whilst waiting for a download to finish. I wonder who got custody of the hairdryer when Guys and Dolls split?

I was going to pick Alphabeat for one of these polls.....they really are a great fun band. Always look like they are enjoying themselves.

You're only saying that so you can continue your "guess the Anne song" competition - I think we're standing at Chickens = 3, Anne = 0 at the moment :D
