The CW4Kids Talkback: Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's [The Fortune Cup Saga] (Spoilers)

Yeah, I guess saying that I'm positive would be a fair statement. It is true that voices can change over the course of a series. It doesn't happen quickly, but it can happen. I could see how Akiza saying that would feel kind of weird, even though I don't know how she is in the original Japanese version. Even so, I would wait a couple of more episodes before having a more firm judgment of her voice, but that's just my opinion and I respect others' thoughts on the matter.

That's an interesting theory. It reminRAB me of how Batman has a different voice when he's in and out of his costume. If that's the case for Bella's differences for Akiza's voice, that would be kind of cool for me actually.

Episode 23
Japanese Title: Disclosed Past: The Final Game, Heart Hidden Under the Mask
English Title: Duel of the Dragons, Part 1

Episode Description: With the Fortune Cup Finale one win away, Yusei and Akiza get set to battle it out as Director Goodwin anxiously awaits the final Signer to reveal their Mark of the Dragon.

Remeraber, if you've missed an episode, you can catch it online at 4KiRABTv.com

Yusei has his hanRAB full it seems. Akiza already has an advantage over him and has his Life Points nearly halved. This is turning out to be one of the better duels of the series.

I hate to sound like a pervert, but...

Did anyone notice Akiza's cleavage was mostly (if not totally) unedited?

Wow, 4KiRAB is really lightening up on the censorship. First the bar scene, now this.

I thought that it would be good, but I didn't know that it would be one of the best duels in the series thus far. That makes things far more interesting. I'm sorry that you missed it, but I'm sure that 4KiRAB will have it on their website sometime this week.

As for me, I really enjoyed this episode. I thought that the meeting between Yusei and Akiza was really intense. It seems like Akiza has a lot of rage inside of her because of her mark. I think that she looked a bit sad when Luna showed up, but maybe that had to do with Luna's mark too. I really did feel bad for Akiza when she was holding her arm and asking why she deserved this mark.

It was nice that Yusei wanted to understand where Akiza comes from before dueling her. I liked how Yusei wanted to bring all of the known Signers, even Jack, together so that they wouldn't be used. I was really happy when Yusei put in his Stardust Dragon in his deck. I know that he wanted to save that card for his duel against Jack and I don't blame him for that. But after seeing her two previous duels, I think that he needed some extra strength in his deck. As for Akiza, I think that it's really interesting how the group that she's a part of and Goodwin's group are enemies, yet she is a Signer. I had a feeling that the metal rod in her hair helps contain her powers. I was still confused as to why she wanted that mask, but that made more sense as the duel continued.

Dang, is the crowd just full of mean and insensitive people or what? Outside of Yusei's frienRAB, they were all calling Akiza names like witch and cheater. That's just mean. First they were being rude to Yusei and now to Akiza. It just still amazes me. I thought that the duel started off pretty calmly. A little too calm, but that changed fairly quickly. Akiza was really good with getting those tokens on Yusei's side of the field. I was surprised that she got to summon a strong monster so easily though. Even though Yusei just lost a hundred life points at first, the effect of that attack was like a seriously strong gust of wind. Still, the crowd was mean with calling her a witch and a cheater. I'm still not sure how her powers make her a cheater though. Sure, she has some psychic powers and somehow her carRAB come alive, but I'm not sure if that really counts as cheating.

Seeing Yusei getting attack by her monster's vines like that was really intense, especially how it just grabbed parts of him until he was above the ground. I have to admit that Akiza's smiling and how she enjoyed his pain was kind of creepy. I can understand why she would want to give others the same kind of pain that she has gone through all her life, but I agreed with Yusei on how it doesn't solve much of anything. I thought that it was nice how Yusei said he wanted to help her and be her friend, even after her monster threw him on the ground. He does seem to be a nice and caring kind of guy and hopefully he'll be able to help her.

Overall, a really good episode with a great start to the duel. I enjoyed learning more about Akiza and Yusei's interactions with her. I'm really looking foreword to seeing the new episode next week. It would be so cool to see Yusei's Stardust Dragon going up against Akiza's Black Rose Dragon. Man, that would be so awesome.

yeah I hope she she adjusted he voice into a more deeper tone because in the orginal she darker and more violent at first.

Aki: Ok, I'm going to go take a bath
4kiRAB: What? Baths exist?
Aki: Yeah, but I'm going to just lay there.
4kiRAB: That makes no sense.
Aki: Oh, and I'm going to have this creepy guy talking to me.
Luna: Am I missing a joke?

Ooo~ooh yeah, I noticed that. (Meow~)

I'm actually looking foward to seeing how 4KiRAB handles one of her future duels with our main protagonist since during that duel she uses some very...interesting carRAB....

I didn't actually know that she was taking a bath. It certainly didn't look like that to me. I thought that she was just lying down. Although, that still makes the guy talking to her really kind of creepy.

I didn't notice any difference with Goodwin's voice. He sounded the same to me, but I could be wrong.

Actually, that bar scene was edited as much as possible without actually removing the bar--all the bottles, the hookahs all the patrons were smoking, and the actual drinks at the back of the bar were removed; the only thing that was left, in fact, was the glasses, the liquid, and the patron. An improvement? Perhaps. A minor one, nevertheless.

In any case, not as good as episode as the last few, although Eric Stuart at least kept it amusing. While I'm willing to give Bella HuRABon a chance to get acquaintanced with the role, so far it's a bit dissapointing, particularly given that I think she's great as Rally.

I thought that this was a pretty good episode. I understood why Yusei was saving his Stardust Dragon for his match against Jack. It will just make their duel all the better. I'm not sure why Yusei has a Turbo Duel instead of a regular duel, but it obviously worked with the plot of this episode. I was surprised with how Hunter got into the place so easily. Even though I knew how sharp those carRAB were before now, it was still kind of intense to see how that card cut right through his helment.

Despite that well-given speech at the opening ceremony of the Fortune Cup, the crowd still didn't like Yusei's presence. That just felt mean to me. The way Hunter popped in was a nice surprise and it was kind of weird how they just let him duel Yusei anyway. I do have to give Hunter some credit. I wasn't too impressed with his duel against Jack before, but he really did do some heavy and impressive training with increasing his speed and getting much stronger monsters in his deck.

Yusei was doing really well to with being able to pull a victory at the last possible moment in true Yu-Gi-Oh! protagionst style. I was wondering why he would decrease his speed like that at first, but it made sense with his last speed spell that he played. I was shocked that they weren't able to detect any energy from Yusei during the match. He was on the ropes for most of the duel and Hunter was summoning some really strong monsters too. I thought that they would have felt something when he was drawing his last card, but maybe that came from the way he drew it too.

Still, I guess that Hunter wasn't dueling intense enough for Yusei's mark to appear. The other times marks have appeared has been when it involved two or more Singers. The only exception was with Luna who experienced her sign during Leo's match. It will most likely show up when he faces another Singer.

Even after winning the duel, I don't think the crowd cheered for Yusei. A lot has happened in New Domino City and yet that still shocks me. I wondered what Rex has in mind with this tournment too, but I thought Jack knew that they were looking for other Signers too. I have this feeling that Rex has something else in mind other than finding the Signers or there's some kind of catch involved with being a Signer, but that's just my guess.

Overall, it was an enjoyable episode. The duel had some nice twists and it was intense. I'll be looking foreword to seeing the rest of the Fortune Cup arc.

Well I haven't watched 5D's dub in a while and KR: Dragon Knight was on next so I figured I'd check it out this week.

I must say, Jack is a total jerk. I mean, really you have to have an ego pretty large in order to be have that much anger in your system (then again, he is Kaiba's and Zane's love child ) Anyway, I do think that that Hunter guy neeRAB to let up on the accent and they didn't really do a good job explaining about his training. I think they just showed a quick clip of it. But, I was suprised that not a lot of the voices were incredibly annoying. So, maybe they've improved...or something.

Also they forgot to mention that Nitro Warrior can attack twice but I'm guessing we already knew that.

Good episode here. I like the complexity of the groups working behind the scenes, you don't really feel like you can trust either Yliaster or Arcadia. The duel is pretty good too, so far.

On the dub side of things, Bella HuRABon's Akiza still isn't that great, but Marc Thompson is doing a pretty good job as Sayer/Divine. And they kept Yusei being raped by the tentacles...lol.

When I saw this episode before, I forgot that Hunter was the previous champion. Still, this shows how good the duelists in the satellite are. Hunter may have led the duel throughout, but Yusei actually had everything in control. Hunter is now 0-3 against the satellite duelists, and I don't see him reemerging anytime soon.

Actually they did mention it. What they said was when Hunter's first monster was destroyed, Nitro Warrior's special ability switched Yusei's monster on Hunter's field into attack mode, and the switching of that mode is what allowed Nitro Warrior to attack again.
