In agreement here. Episode 2 was better than the pilot by a little bit, and that's if you don't count the Family Guy transition opening. The Cleveland Show is charming, but does lack that wow factor that gets people talking like Family Guy and American Dad do. It's way too early to tell if that's good in the long run quality- or viewership-wise. But it is something to keep in mind.
As for this episode, the natural progression from the pilot happened here... which is Cleveland endearing himself to Rollo and Roberta. And it works, after a huge unexpected bump in killing the family dog accidentally. Roberta proved to be the harder sell, as seen by Cleveland's attempts. By the way... the Cleveland Ghost Rider bit was the funniest scene in the entire episode. Mostly for the dance moves, but funny's funny. In the end... I guess I should've seen Cleveland's first instinct being him asking Roberta to marry him before asking her to dance. That line pretty much wrote itself... but hey, it brought them together at last.
Also... wasn't sure on the bear last week, but this week... the calm voice of reason at least enhances his likability. So that's something.
Season's still young, guys... two okay episodes is nothing to get uppity over.
