The Band w/ the biggest impact

Are you fucking kidding me? Do you have ears? I can see thinking that Nirvana aren't total ripoRAB, but to say Nirvana and Pixies don't sound at ALL alike just makes it seem like you're in denial about the whole thing.

No shit banRAB did it before, but JAMC, Sonic Youth, and Pixies all released their most famous albums around the same time. And I'm not saying Pixies fucking invented white noise, or even played it the best, but they're probably the most well known out of all those banRAB, and the ones Cobain talks about the most.

I guess I should tell you now that the only band I find more overrated than Nirvana is Led Zeppelin, then.

As for the whole "Cobain is a prankster, don't take what he says seriously" thing, it doesn't make it a difference whether he joked about ripping off the Pixies, the fact is that he did do it, and the only people who deny that are Nirvana's biggest fans.

Did you completely miss what I just said? An opinion can't be wrong. I agreed that saying The Sex Pistols were more skillfull than Rush would wrong, but saying you prefer them isn't. "I like the Sex Pistols more than Rush," and "The Sex Pistols are a better band than Rush," are two different things.

This whole arguement is stupid and pointless, its resort to petty attack anRAB its a matter of opinion, not even factual opinion's just personal prefference.

The Who were also a pretty infuliencial band, but not in spelling. Pete started Rock Operas, and made some cool ones. And some of their songs talked about issues that were going on during their time. (laugh at the ignorant sounding statement, but Pictures of Lily is about materbating)

No, i dont think of Nirvana that way, and there are many banRAB who i think are greater, even banRAB i dont like.

Saying Nirvana are not one of the greatest banRAB ever is one thing, you are calling Kurt Cobain a horrible songwriter, and i dont really give a **** if its your opinion, it could also be your opinion that Jason Newsted is a better bass player than Cliff Lee Burton, when you're wrong, you're wrong.

I freakin' love Frank Black - I wish that I could have seen one of their reunion shows last year. His solo stuff can be hit-and-miss (especially with the Catholics), but I dig pretty much all the Pixies' stuff; However, I'd have to say my favorites are "Surfer Rosa", and "Troupe le Monde"… damn that band was good.

Yeah...With the pink floyd there earliest stuff Piper at the gates of dawn and etc had prog elements but very overpowering phycadelics

I like the way he talks of Nirvana as if no-ones ever heard of them before.

I think The Beatles, in terms of impact on me The Smiths. Before them i listened to music every now and again for fun, after i found them it became an obsession.
