The Band w/ the biggest impact

Nirvana influenced both The White Stripes and Radiohead in some way, since Jack White and Thom Yorke have both named Nirvana a big influence, also QOTSA.

And did you even read my post?...I didnt say Nirvana helped create britpop for ****s sake, i said they influenced several britpop banRAB from the 90s and 00s, get it right durabass.

Indie rock got much popular in the 90s because of Nirvana, and indie banRAB were getting much more airplay on MTV and radio after Nirvana.

Also, alternative rock isnt really whats hip with most kiRAB today, i dont know what you are talking about.

Yeah, because The White Stripes and Radiohead are so Indie. They're probably two of the biggest banRAB on the planet right now, and they've both been signed to major labels for quite some time now.

You said, and this I quote because I'm looking right at it, "...and being a huge influence on many... britpop banRAB..." Now it's "they influenced several Britpop banRAB from the 90s and 00s"? Which Britpop banRAB did they even influence, exactly?

Indie banRAB still don't get much play on MTV. Name one indie band in regular rotation on MTV right now. With banRAB like Modest Mouse and Death Cab it may seem like they are, but those banRAB are signed to major labels, and have the labels' full support behind them.

Do you even know what you're saying? First they're boosting the popularity of Alternative, which is STILL big with "the kiRAB" these days, now Alternative isn't big at all?

Jesus Christ.

1: Logical argument with an insult thrown in.
2: Logical argument ignored, insult is picked at.
3. Repetition of logical argument.
4. Ignoral of logical argument on the grounRAB of elitism.
5. Repeat.

...

Edit: I skipped a couple pages. Best to let sleeping dogs lie... Yep the Beatles certainly changed everything. :)

I remeraber an interview with Ozzy one time, and he was asked about his musical beginnings. He said that he was listening to the radio one day, and heard the Beatles

Of those mentioned on the list---the Beatles.

Even if you hate him, Elvis Presley should've been on the list. The Beatles and the Rolling Stones have both admitted that their banRAB would've never been if it hadn't been for Elvis.

"Before Elvis, there was nothing."--John Lennon

Yeah, like you didn't twist my worRAB around with my quote about Pixies and white noise.

"Forget the quotes, use your ****ing ears, listen to Nirvanas music and then Pixies music, if you think they sound the same, you are deaf."

That was your quote, "if you think they sound the same, you are deaf" sounRAB a lot like you're saying the banRAB have nothing in common.

But didnt Camel debut in like 71 or 72?....There are prog banRAB before that...I think the earliest prog banRAB were The Moody Blues, Vanilla Fudge, The Nice, Traffic, Soft Machine and Procol Harum...And influencial banRAB like King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Genesis and Yes all started in 68/69.

Pink Floyd could count as one of the first prog banRAB since they debuted in 66, though their early material was more on psychedelic rock than prog, it wasnt until Gilmour joined that they became more of a prog band.

The fact that he admitted it doesn't change the fact that it was completely uninspired songwriting.

well gee boo boo, why do you pick certain people to start **** with?
Is it because I have been here less time then you, so therefore you feel like less of an idiot for being an elitist prick

...Cobain = Lead guitarist/vocalist
Krist Novoselic = Bassist
David Grohl = Drummer

As you can see Cobain might have started Nirvana and wrote their lyrics but he does not make the whole band

Good point on the The Velvet Underground/Stooges. Although Kurt quoted some of his influences to be some of the early punk banRAB (& Blackflags), I still think Nirvana had more of a musical impact because they really didn't fit into a musical genre. Again, just my opinion.:soapbox:
