The 100 Greatest Singers of All Time

They put Kurt Cobain way too high on their guitarist list too.

On the Beatles note, I've always liked Paul's voice more than John's.

Now that I'm more used to it I do like Thom Yorke's voice, but I wouldn't say he's one of the greatest ever.

Yeah, I never got the big deal about Elvis. Little Richard and Chuck Barry>>>>>>>>>>Elvis Presley for 50's rock and roll, in my opinion.

Only recognizable because it took him about 6 albums to stop it sounding like he was smothering himself with a blanket.

C'mon guys, these lists are always, always bull****.

I disappointed that there is no Maynard or Jeff Buckleys higher up on the list. And as always am baffled by the vocalists that get high places... Kurt Cobain?

Yeah, Thom Yorke's voice is good enough, but not good enough for this sort of list. And if we're considering this to be a list of the 100 best pop/rock/R&B vocalists from English speaking countries, then Christina Aguilera deserves to be on his list.

His fan base is an opressed minority. Their going to vote for him regardless of the the catagory is for, their pissed he's undersold.

As for the list, Rolling Stone still wants to pull away from banRAB they precieve as being played in Pick-up Trucks.

As Sam accuratly pointed out, RS is still fighting for civil rights, voting for McGovern, and reversing their decisions. The reporting is decent, but their lists are making up for past sins.

I was somewhat surprised to see Mary J. Blige there. Christina Aguilera as well but she probably deserves to the mention seeing how when she actually tries to sing, her voice is pretty amazing.

Because there's more to singing than just vocal range and technical ability. Arguing this is like trying to argue with Dream Theater and Satriani fans...

Aw, FaSho, why you gotta be like that :(

Matt's range alone should make him generally accepted as ok, I don't know why you think he's terrible. And Thom's voice is about as simple a voice you can get, I don't know what's to hate about that either.

I can't see many truckers blasting Mr. Bungle or Fantomas down the road, but that's just me.

And somehow, Axl Rose made the cut. Which is ridiculous.

Bob Dylan so high? I mean, I love his music but in no way was he a good singer.

Unless they mean "greatest" as in most legendary or influential or something.

I can't say I'm surprised though, considering their other lists.
