Stitch! English Dub Edits

So they kind of threw the "Ohana" message out of the window by saying that he left Lilo because she found a boyfriend? What is this... I don't even. I always assumed that this was an alternative universe anyway, and had no connection to Lilo and Stitch except for every reoccurring character from the old series appearing again.

Well, I'll still give it a shot like I did with the Japanese version.

What I am saying is, why the hell would anybody want to see a Japanese adaptation of an American franchise brought in line with the American version when that defeats the entire purpose of watching a series made specifically for and by the Japanese? If I wanted to watch American Stich I'd watch a product that was originally inteded for the American audience, not some watered down pandering to culturally inept children, not that I don't consider America the best damn nation on this Earth the past 200+ years, but it defeats the purpose of the product and of bringing the product overseas if it misrepresents the actual product.

In short, import the Japanese version and don't support crap. The end.

You know, normally this sort of thing would seem frivolous to complain about, but completely defeating the point of the original movie? That is something worth complaining about. Ugh.

No one gets left behind? Sure Disney, unless they get a boyfriend, then they're no time for your family/pet anymore.

It sounRAB like unless its a Miyazaki film or a show dubbed by another company (Viz, Funi), they shouldn't be in the anime game. Its like they didn't even watch the show before dubbing.

Oh, and as I recall, Stitch also had a girlfriend, Angel, for people who have seen the Lilo and Stitch series.

Angel also appears in the anime, but Stitch and her never met in the Japanese version, and if Disney makes Stitch forget her, then there's more pointlessness about the Lilo's boyfriend thing.

I'll say it again, one BAD line DOES NOT an Anime Ruin.

People are WAY overreacting to this, I LOVED the ORIGIONAL Movies & TV Series as well. But the Spin-off looks like a fun show.

& again mabye they want to go with a diffrent moral now, somthing like. "things change over time" not as good at the origional. But again people WAY overreacting after just one episode, rediculious!

I know that, and I'll probably still end up seeing the english dub anyways, it's just that, thanks to the writers, they're making it have a terrible first impression.

i would care if teh Stitch anime was any good to begin with. It's not, I don't even think it should have been made. yeah if your a fan of this anime the changes are annoying but it's existance annoys me enough as it is.

I guess Disney as a whole thought they had to explain where Lilo went, which they didn't really have to do in Japan, for whatever reason. Be happy it is set in Japan. And remeraber, Disney MADE the anime.

As for the voice, it is the difference in how animes are voiced. Lilo and Stitch was pre-lay, as in voiced before the animation was made. Stitch is post lay, meaning voiceing to the video of the character. Post lay is much harder than pre-lay, and it must be harder to match the voice of old stitch with anime stitch.

I think that it's really weird that they made up such an excuse to explain why Stitch isn't with Lilo in this series. I thought that it was pretty clear that it took place in a different universe and outside of a few characters, the movie and American series didn't connect with this series at all. Besides that, Lilo not having time for Stitch because of a boyfriend really ignores the family message in the first film. I may see this series, but I wasn't really that impressed with the American series. It had some good points and the finale was nice, but I like the movie and its sequel more than the series overall.

Alot better then PPGZ, & I mean ALOT better (but most things are better then the english dub of PPGZ.)

I'd say its on the same level as the English dub of Precure. So again overall an average Dubbing Job, nothing super good or bad about it, just an average dub for an average yet enjoyable show.

(& again people are blowing the whole diseny trying to connect it to the main series thing WAY out of proportion, just enjoy the show for what it is! a decent spin-off of a GREAT Franchise.)

No. Don't even compare it to Pretty Cure. Pretty Cure's dub does have some minor problems, but for the most part, I thought it was a decent dub. Scripting for the most part is okay, most of the roles are decent, voice acting is okay for the most part, left all the sound effects and music (sans opening and ending) intact, and there hasn't been any cuts to the material.

As for the PowerPuff Girls Z dub... I did think it was worse than Stitch! in some ways, but I'd rather not get into that subject regarding that dub. The only thing going for the Stitch! dub is really the voice cast. The scripting, some of the direction (I thought), and the music, as well as some of the clunky cutting down the scenes to fit into the timeslot, it kind of cancels out the cast in my honest opinion. Even if it's a children's property, I still don't think it deserves the treatment it is getting. It's not something I can honestly sit down, watch, and enjoy.

Also, Soundmonkey44, we wouldn't complain unless we felt there were legit problems with it. And there are. We can't enjoy it because of these problems. We aren't blowing it out of proportion.

Considering only 1 episode has aired..I would say you are overreacting....again yea, the lilo thing was silly, but in the overall scheme of things it'll end up being a pointless line anyway...Think what you will, but Im a big enough fan of the Franchise to look past it...if you think that makes me a bad fan, so be it, Im going to watch every episode of this when it comes stateside, the only way I'll Complain about it is if Disney Death slots it or if the Dub hasn't Improved by the end of the 1st season, Then I'll complain, but not after one bad episode...No....Not after just 1.

(sigh)

You didn't read my previous post, don't you?

I said that somehow marked a bad first impression. As in, there gonna be some people who are overreacting.

Hopefully, future episodes should be good, but then again, Jeff Nemoy is writing this...

What is up with you and the music? Music does not make the anime, your basically saying the story and characters can be crap, but nope if the music is good forget it it's all fixed *sarcasm* >_>.
