Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith - The Saga is Complete

I saw it, and I thought it was the most awesomest awesomer in awesomeland. :look: Wha?

But yeah, I thought that this was incredibly wall-made, although some of the dialogue didn't really satisfy. I was a bit weary about seeing this one because I knew it would be so depressing and tragic, but I'm happy I saw it because it really has an important role in the Star Wars saga and, IMO, movie history in general. ;)
 
The movie was a technical marvel and I liked some of the plot but the dialogue was abysmal and Hayden Christensen has got to be one of the worst actors ever! I found myself feeling sorry for MacGregor and Portman knowing that they are such fine actors and has there ever been anyone as miscast as Jackson as Windu?
For my money The Phantom Menace was the best of the second three.

The take handily beats the one-day record of $44.8 million set last year by "Shrek 2." "Sith" is distributed by News Corp.'s (NWS) 20th Century Fox film unit.
 
I was so impressed with this movie...for once, all the hype is justified. It's action-packed, there are great fight scenes in it, and finally, almost everyone in it comes with their acting hats on. Great job, oh Flanneled One. You should be very proud of what you've accomplished. :nod:
 
Yeah this movie was definitely the best of the 3 modern movies, but doesn't even compare to the original series.

Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting was the best scene, and seeing how Anakin became Darth Vader was interesting
 
Well, at least Lucas recovered somewhat from that disastrous start. Still, I came away disappointed from the "modern" Star Wars series. That said, I do realize it is almost impossible to recapture the same experience from childhood.

I haven't been spoiling myself either. I want to see it all on the big screen that first night. :D
 
For me, Star Wars Ep3 is the best film ever and nothing can't change my opinion!I really love this film!So sensual,interesting... :blush:
 
I can't wait to see this movie :D

I never saw the originals, and wasn't the least interested when episode I came out. Then I was at a friends house and her brother and friend watched it, and I liked it. Ep II was great, imo.. I thought it would be so long until the next one.. but now here it is about to come out at the cinemas :D

Thank you. You took the words right out of my mouth. I love all the Star Wars movies and I own all of them. No, I haven't read the books but that doesn't make me a lesser fan than those that do read them.

So maybe I don't know the true reason to why he turned to the darkside. But the movie definately gave off the idea that he turned in order to save Padme. He stated several times that he wouldn't allow another loved one to die. Also his anger towards the Council for not making him a Jedi Master aided in his turning and also the Chancellor just twisted his mind and made him distrust the Council, including Obi Won. As far as the movie goes, I don't see any other reason for him turning. And like I said before, he was tricked. At the end he was made to believe that he himself killed Padme.

among the other films that i saw today.....


'star wars III: revenge of the sith'......well since i've seen every one of the films in a theater at one time or another...so i thought i might as well see the last installment in a theater as well....it was alot better film that the last 2 films....but to be honest...my favorite of the 'star wars' films is 'the empire strkes back'......
 
I can't believe we're less than a week away from The Big Day. I found out today that my local theater is offering a midnight showing, but I won't be able to make it (as much as I'd like to) because of work the next day. I really hope I get to see it Thursday night, though. I saw the trailer on the big screen last weekend when I saw 'Kingdom of Heaven' and it looked FANTASTIC. :D

I've done pretty well as far as not spoiling myself silly for the movie. I don't want to know too much to soon.
 
if he were to make another star wars movie, i dont see what it could be about...the force is back into balance...THE END:P
 
That would seem ok! I thought it must've been higher since I heard on a tv show that so much of it was "animated" that it could actually qualify as an animated film come Oscar time.

I just laughed but it got me thinking about the cost. But it's a fair budget, fair indeed. Cool. :)
 
The reports are various, but anywhere from $113 million to $115 million (tops; above the line not including marekting).

That isn't a lot considering some movies... Like Titanic and LOTR... Cost well over $200 million PER MOVIE.

What really helped the budget was the fact a lot of scenes for Episode III were shot simultaneously when Episode I and II were being shot as well. And that most of the actual sets of "Sith" are nothing more than green screens which cuts down on your crafts (unions; salaries; set designers; carpetners; etc.) costs tremendously.
 
I couldn't believe that my theatre only had ONE PRINT of this movie! The biggest movie of the year and we only show it four times a day! I was completely shocked. My manager told me that they were only allowed to show it in one theatre...?? Why in the world would that be??

I'm looking forward to seeing this. Not a big Star Wars fan, but it should be good.

Also, with all due respect... You seem to exhibit this attitude (both here and on the Star Wars board) that anyone who isn't as a devoted fan as yourself is somehow "inferior" to you, or isn't "worthy" of discussing the film or the series.

You almost killed the discussion on RoTS when myself and others brought up what we considered thought-provoking points of interest and you resorted to a cliched, "It's George Lucas' universe, he can do what he wants" reasoning as your only counter-argument. No offense, but that doesn't facilitate discussion which is what a message board is all about...
 
Actually, that's the perception but that's not why he went to the dark side. I don't know how much you're into reading or the SW universe to begin with...but I recommend the novel...Revenge of the Sith by Matthew Stover. It's a quick, intense read and it'll answer all your questions...including that most recent one:)
