Interestingly, the Jonas brothers come out as sympathetic victims here. They sound like they're sincere about Christianity, and they keep talking about wanting to do really good music (beats me if they actually could
). And their christian fans come out well, too, being duped by a crook rather than being bad themselves. All the evil came entirely from Mickey Mouse as the Ultimate Cynical CEO. No plans for Armageddon, he's just out to make lots of money, and that's a dead-on sting about the state of Disney's corporate attitude for two decades. Actually, I suspect that "Jonas Brothers music sucks" might be the only thing that T&M agree with from that rant; everything else is the cynical opinion of the moneymen. I didn't like the Mickey transformation though; it was tacked on, and everyone was so casual about it.
BTW: This is satire. There's never been a problem with using a copyrighted character for satirical purposes. So I don't see anything that Disney lawyers could stand on. They might be able to scare Viacom, but mainly because Viacom has been really chicken in the past. I couldn't believe they knuckled under to the CoS.
I've never heard any Jonas brothers music (though I think it's reasonable to assume it sucks
). So I don't know if Mickey's claim that "they're selling sex to little girls" is real. Anyone know if that's true? Do the brothers really do that foam stunt? Hmm, I guess that was what Disney was doing when Britney Spears used to work for them.
The purity ring satire was a little forced: I wouldn't have expected Stan and Kyle to be into pranks like that TP'ing, or building that gross snowman. They're not thugs, like Cartman i
