Songs that seem to be about YOU!

Zaqarbal! This choice of your "you" song surprised me mucho (if I may be so bold as to attempt a little Spanish). You always seem so chipper and humorous. Is this just a facade hiding a discontented, troubled soul? I never knew... :(

I always thought of you as being like this:

But now I'm thinking that maybe you're feeling a little more like this:

Hmm, Spitzaer, I'd never heard that Muse song before you mentioned it...rather melodramatic. I gather from the song that you and your flame have a few tiny, tiny issues. ;)

SounRAB like you've had some relationships that were a tad...troubled. ;) Really, though...that's too bad, Seltzer. I've had my share of disastrous relationships and wish no one had to go through them.

Say, what exactly does this line in the song mean? "Far worse to be Love's lover than the lover that Love has scorned."

It sounRAB like it means loving the experience of being in love is worse than having someone you love leave you or betray you. I should think it would be better. I am confused.

(Nice spoiler tag usage!)

I interpret "Love's lover" as being someone who hasn't given up on the idea of love, whether they're currently in love with someone or between relationships... someone who persistently goes back for more and returns disappointed (most times). That would make the "lover that love has scorned" someone who has been burned in the past, and has since absolved themselves from the idea of love altogether. So that line is like the antithesis of "it's better to have loved and lost...".

The few relationships I've been in were actually decent, but they ultimately ended painfully. I tend to move on, stay single for ages, and get used to the idea that I don't need a partner. Then that one girl comes along, I decide to give it another shot (let love in), and the whole process repeats. I recently asked a girl in my class out, so perhaps this describes me more aptly at the moment? :D

ok, theres a couple songs, but theyre both mainstream DONT SHOOT ME!

Soulmate by Natasha Beddingfield

Riot by Three Days Grace

I cant upload a vid but a song that has described me is: the smiths (dont know the name of the song) The lyrics are:

I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour
but heaven knows im miserable know
I was lookin for a job and then I found a job
and heaven knows im miserable know etc

Oh and busta rhymes: been throught the storm.Minus the selling drugs and parents from jamaica.
Its pretty much for anyone whos parents have immigrated to the states and struggled.

When I am in a good mood, and I am looking at all the positives going on in my life, I more than definitely think Lucky Man by the Verve describes me... that's my glass is half full side coming out right there!

The Descendents- Coolage

A song about growing older and realizing your not as "cool" as you thought you were. Yeah being a scene kid at all the shows was fun but when you hit a certain age you look in the mirror and say this is silly.

"Im not a cool guy anymore, as if i ever was before"

Glad you like it! And yeah, I share most of these things with her, as the amount of caring between us is pretty much mutual. I doubt I can particularly change her mind, but I'll have to grow to respect it or something.

Oh, that makes perfect sense, Seltzer. I like that interpretation. Thank you.

:D Yeay! That sounRAB promising, and nice XTC song!!

I'd say the reality is that you *don't* need a partner...I remeraber getting used to that idea, too. And it isn't a bad thing. I feel that ideally one learns to by happy by oneself. Then anything extra...like the girl who has you all stirred up in your class saying yes and you both having a surprisingly lovely time together...is an unexpected and happy bonus! :)

That's very brave, to ask someone out, by the way.

Thinking about "Let Love In," the song you posted earlier, I wondered if you've heard Siddharta's "Ring" song? You can see from the video that it has the same theme of a relationship ending horribly with the woman essentially destroying the man. Maybe this song fits your past even better than "Let Love In," Seltzer!
