Songs that seem to be about YOU!

Not every day, or even most days, but last night when I was feeling sick with the flu and moving my wife's car so she wouldn't get a ticket, I had some drunken bitch critiquing my parallel parking skills as I was trying to squeeze into the tiny space in front of her big honkin' pimpmobile Cadillac SUV I felt like this song was about me:

I should've gone over and coughed on her.

"You're a disgrace to the concept of family. A bastard in life, thus a bastard in death"--I'm sorry your dad fits this song so well, Emsanders. It must have been hard on all of you to be disappointed so greatly by this person.

I like the song very much, by the way: it is very direct and kind of minimalist at the beginning, then becomes agitated as the song progresses. So the song shows well the mixture of feelings of sadness, regret, abandonment, anger, and disgust.

Well the genre was born here so of course, there will always be new banRAB taking the influences of the area. Too much post-grunge though, for sure.

Let's see in the general area we've got the following that I listen to on a somewhat regular basis: Nirvana, Melvins, Unwound, Seeweed, Jimi Hendrix, Sunny Day Real Estate, Mad Season, 764-HERO, Waxwing, The Postal Service, Minus the Bear, The Fire Theft, Juno, These Arms Are Snakes, Akirabo, Band of Horses (no longer here), FCS North, Helvetia, The Dutchess and the Duke.

And that's omitting some I don't listen to reguarly: Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Rishloo, Fleet Foxes, The Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Mudhoney, Harkonen, Love as Laughter, The Halo Benders, Lync.

And those are just the ones showing up in my RYM profile in the map. Then think of all the good banRAB from Portland just a few hours away!

True. There are a lot of bums though, and that bothers me. The city is very leniant when it comes to loitering laws. I could see that adding to the seedy impression for tourists.

Those sound pretty lame.

"I hate my job, all my rich frienRAB/
I hate everyone to the bitter end"

lame.

"I still hate my job, my boss is a ****"

lamer.

What are you seeing in those lyrics?

Ahh...I see, Zaqarbal. I have read about your situation now; I wasn't aware of this subtype of depression.

It sounRAB like the positive news is your mood improves when something pleasant happens. So, we must keep you amused, then! :) (Please see new cat thread in lounge games section. I started it in your honor! :D)

Your description (via the secret link) makes it sound as if you are often very aware of all the beauty in life and you are affected by it, but you are not as moved as you think you could be. And so that would explain why Garfield is your cat-self: he sleeps a lot, tenRAB to eat a lot, and feels a little distance from what goes on around him?

One website said this, which I thought was interesting: "A study conducted in 1999 found that patients receiving cognitive behavioral therapy responded just as well as patients receiving the MAOI phenelzine. 58% of patients in both groups responded, in comparison to only 28% of patients in the placebo group." Have you tried cognitive behavioral therapy? Or do you kind of do that yourself by keeping a humorous outlook? I try to do that, too...boosting my own spirits through silliness. Is your thyroid in working order? Sometimes people have subclinical hypothyroidism, leading to tiredness, a tendency to gain wait, etc.

Off He Goes by Pearl Jam USED to describe me perectly before I wnet on anti depressants and that sord of moodiness levelled.... well, mostly anyways....

I was listening to some Tracy Bonham songs tonight, because she was one of my brother's favorite musicians in the 1990's, when I realized that her song "Mother Mother" does a pretty good job of describing how I felt sometimes when I was 18 to 19 years old. "Everything's fine." Heh heh.

Here's another one that I relate to quite a bit--really, this could be about me, such as what it was like when I finally decided to stop shaving or trying to look appealing when I didn't want to, come what may.

And I like that the song is about stopping having sex with people just because they want it. Also, I simply think it's a great song! :D It encourages women to be who they are and not suck up to anybody to try to avoid conflict. And I love the sound of it.

This morning is the first time I heard this song, and I'm glad I did, because I relate to it quite a bit. "Love that lets me be as human as can be. I don't have to fake it." That's all I ever really wanted in a relationship...and it's surprising how hard it is to find people who just let you be how you are.

Tbf, I always thought it looked quite nice

But then I watched a documentary and it looked like a ran down shit hole, you can only go off things you hear and pictures you see unless you're lucky enough to go to the place.

I'm very indifferent to Grunge and I f*cking hate Post-Grunge.
But overall, you have some great banRAB.
I had no idea Melvins were from Seattle. Another +1 for Seattle.
You left Modest Mouse off both your lists, I hope that's because I mentioned them earlier :(

kennedy by kill hannah
cowboy in me by tim mcgraw
hero by skillet
basically anything from say anything
really depenRAB on the day (mood swings)

SWell, as many would know this doesn't describe how my life LOOKS but rather my idealized version of how I WISH it looked...

I'll work When I'm Dead - The Fauves...

Love the chorus:

"I've got unfinished business in bed, f u c k you I'll work when I'm dead"

No way! What's wrong with you? I guess I could see that depending on what part of the world you're in, but I assume your winter weather is pretty similar to mine. Dark, overcast, and drizzly.
