I thought that there were a few 'corny' moments.

As soon as Mel came out of the cellar I saw the bat on the wall so guessed what would happen next, especially as his wife mentioned 'swing' as a last word. A bit too obvious really.
When the discussion was about how they don't like water came about I thought the family would be safe due to the water that the little girl left about. Worked that one out fairly early on.
When he saw the alien in the corn why did he rush back to the house, then walk in slowly and not tell anyone what he saw ?
I thought the brother went a bit crazy, like hiding under the stairs and wearing the foil hat, and Mel seemed a bit distant, like 'Oh well'. Surely keeping the children safe and close would be top priority. Where were they when the brother was hiding ?
Why didnt he call the police to tell them that an alien was trapped in the pantry ?
And why was the crucifix not on the wall outside the bathroom, when he found his faith again, and was up when he had lost his love of god ?
Small things I guess, and to be quite honest these moments didnt spoil it for me.I would have liked to have seen more corn field encounters, and more of the attack on the house/cellar. The acting was good, and McCauly Culkins brother is a dead ringer for McCauly.
Craig, did you like What Lies Beneath ? Although different stories I found similarities in styles. And I didn't like 6th Sense BTW.
