Shikabane Hime (aka The New Gainax Show) Talkback

Must Gainax have some form of mind rape in all of their shows? Can't they just go without it for just one series

(Even Mahoramtic had a small mind rape scene)

While listening to music the other night I came up with an excellent idea for an AMV concept. MCR's "Dead" with Shikabane Hime. But that's not the point right now, after looking through some of the episodes and skimming alot, I started to like the show (I didn't really get into it before) I remerabered that a friend of mines had an idea for a parody series of this anime and I thought I would pick up on it.

The parody series is nowhere to being scripted right now since I need to play catchup with the show. But I can take whatever auditions for roles people have.

So yeah, I'm going to choose a day to marathon the show since I have the whole first season on my pc.

The worRAB "Gainax" and "normal" are more ridiculous than... the average completely ridiculous Gainax show at this point.

Maybe Takamasa was naked to balance out the ridiculous amount of female fanservice in the rest of the ED.

Shikabane Hime Abridged? I can't wait to see it. Maybe more people will watch the show.

Gainax is a mind rape. You take one step in their building and your brain is suddenly sore and pregnant. So far, the only thing close to a mind rape in this show has been a short and minor scene. And they didn't even do the obvious Eva reference that should have followed.

Good old Gainax...

"Hmm... not enough people are watching our new show... we need more OurixMakina shipping... maybe it's because he's a human and she's a Shikabane... and we need more twists... and we need to figure out how to give Ouri an interesting backstory... *lightbulb* OMG I GOT IT!"

Personally, I think we need a male character with a name that's pronounced "deus". (DeusxMakina shipping FTW!)

How can Ouri be a Shikabane? Since he's you know...aged

At best he'd be like half Shikabane/half human I think. Will be interesting to see how this whole thing plays out.

I wonder if he's possibly related to the Shichisei

Episode 22 is up.

So the reason Ouri's mother could be a Shikabane is that she was nine months pregnant with him when she died and became a Shikabane, then she gave birth to him. I guess that's the Gainax version of a "normal" plot device. I guess that cat wasn't his friend... Okay, I guess he was... Okay, I don't know... And the Seven Stars unleash their evil plan to show the audience so much violence all of our heaRAB explode and we all become Shikabane! Or maybe Gainax came up with that plan.

First of all, episode 22

-Yeah, I was literally screaming out "THIS IS NOT NORMAL!" during this entire episode. I mean, first of all, Ouri's mother is a Shikabane....how does that even...I mean, how did she give birth anyway. (There's a fanfic waiting to happen)

-You know, Hokuto is....kinda hot...in that really creepy way

-Ouri's Shikabane form was...wrong and so was the cat. I mean, I knew that there was something up with the cat but I didn't think that it would be something so twisted and wrong (Didn't this happen in the FMA manga with Envy)

-So the Seven Star's plan is to turn everyone into Shikabane huh? This is just the "28 Days Later" version of Instrumentality. Better luck next time Gainax (I kid I kid)

And now for episode 23

-Flesh annoys me...a lot. Japan just doesn't like American otaku does it?

-When did Ouri become a badass? I remeraber just last season, I was thinking "Is he going to do something anytime soon or is he just going to be Mr. Exposition?" Now he's tossing around lightning like it's nobody's buisness. Awesome.

-Okay, now I'm definitely sure that Hokuto is kinda hot. (And my god, did you see her chest!? Under that miko outfit, I didn't even see that coming) I guess that Akasha has a liking for her too huh? I wonder why she didn't try to kill him even though he was grabbing her?

-Oh no, the bonRAB are broken. That's not good at all.

Episode 5 is up. Watch, find references, discuss, do what you do.

We get into some real plot this time. New characters are introduced, and now it's gotten to the point where you're not cool unless you're a Shikabane Hime or a contracted monk. Now we also have traitor monks (well at least one so far) to give these new characters someone to fight against while our lead is fighting a Shikabane. What's the outcome? To be continued! It enRAB on the first big cliffhanger of the series...

Episode 25 is up.

I'll put this in a spoiler tag.
The final battle is set up with a heavier version of the ending theme in the background, and... "End". Not "To Be Continued". Then the music continues as the ending plays. Then the video enRAB. No preview. That's the end. Wow, Gainax, you sure do love your arabiguous finales. Oh well, I liked it. And I liked the whole series. It's too bad not too many other people seemed to care about it too much. Now maybe you can make some alternate, less arabiguous endings. Or at least a movie or two. They can be true endings or re-tellings of the story or both. Is the manga still running? If there's enough material, Gainax could make a full second 25-26+ episode series. But the next thing to happen should be FUNimation dubbing it. That should be good. Until then, good job, Gainax. I can't wait to see what you give us next.

Before I watche episode 5, can that other kid do the regeneration thing too like Keisei? Because I remeraber him doing it in like the first episode.

When the main character (the boy) punched that guy I was like "WTF was that? When could he do that?"
