Sex and The City (may contain spoilers)

I loved this! It was soooooo good. :D

Samantha was the best thing about it for me. She had the best lines. I wished we saw more of her story but I thought her and Smith's break-up was quite touching without being too emotional - very Samantha.
Miranda + Steve = me crying!

Carrie's okay but she's never been my favourite. It was good though. I'd definitely go and see it again.

Loved It! Loved It! Loved It!

Thought it was Fabulous, saw it last night, & i was so excited. I honestly dont think id ever been so excited to go to a movie in my whole life. How gorgeous was Charlottes daughter Lilly? I loved when Harry said they now had "...a Lilly & a Rose" after Char had the baby. So Sweet! Samantha was fabulous as usual, was sad when she broke up with Smith, but i agree it was done really well & in such a Samantha way. Miranda was great aswell, i liked her story, and she looked great in the movie, the New Years scene when shes sitting at home alone was so sad, loved Carrie getting out of bed & making her way downtown to get to her. Carrie, of course, was fab! lol Loved her outfits, the vintage dress she had on in the first scene was gorgeous, the huge flower wasnt to my taste, but it was v.Carrie.

It was just a really great atmosphere overall i thought, i went with my Boyfriend, & secretly he really liked it! Although, i squealed out loud when Carrie gave Louise the Louis Vuitton handbag, i have the same one & was thrilled it was in the movie! Think the boyfriend was a touch mortified. Oh Well! lol As I said though, the atmosphere in the cinema was fantastic & there was applause at the end. All in all, i think they made a fab movie out of a fabulous Tv show.

LOVED THE FILM!! 10/10

Samantha's one liners were great! Carrie's breakdown in the street was fab, Charlotte's 'accident' was hilarious!!

Oh I loved it all!!

I dont know how to tag, but the title of this thread suggests there may be spoilers, Thats why I put (may contain spoilers).

Anybody is free to make another thread about SATC, that has the title (No Spoliers Please):)

Am I the only one who noticed the Seinfeld-y bits? E.g the reference to 'make-up sex' and the bit where Carrie's upset that her area code has changed on her phone?

Apart from that, it seemed like a good ol' fashioned romcom - Ian Cutis could have written it (with input from some of his more raucous female acquaintances :))

And I can''t believe that the Vogue editor was based on Anna Wintour - Meryl Streep nailed her in The Devil Wears Prada

Really really disappointed myself.

Toilet humour (Charlotte sh*ts herself? A dog humping a cushion? Per-lease, it was like watching a frigging Adam Sandler film), Charlotte basically being a charicature of herself and being told to go running even though her pregnancy could've been jeapordised, also quite racist overtones with her dislike of the Mexican Health and hygiene standarRAB, thought it was ridiculous that Jennifer HuRABon had all black people at ther NYE party but one token whitey stuck in for effect, Harry reduced to a simpering tw*t with no personality, borderline retarded children (Why was Lily mute?), unfeasible plots and character transplants (Stanny and Anthony frienRAB, possibly lovers? No no no, was so much better before, and didn't pander to the stupid idea that all gay men fancy /like each other), I could go on...

Good points: Samantha wonderful as ever (but why split her and Smith up?! Their relationship was sposed to show that she had matured and settled down and finally found someone who could match her sexual appetite and ballsy personality)

Miranda and Steve, wonderful acting, good script, realistic that she would be busy and stressed as a working mum.

In all: 4/10.

I LOVED IT!!!!

And what's more, I did'nt expect to!

It was brilliant - I was never a SATC fan but after seeing the film I've really changed my opinion, esp of SJP's acting. When she was jilted and her subsequent depression just made my heart ache for her. The script was razor sharp, the acting spot on, the outfits completely inspirational - 10/10!

Finally got to see this last night.
My expectations were fairly low but I loved it.
It didn't feel long at all, and I laughed and cried throughout.

So many highlights, but I loved the fashion show where the girls were rating Carries clothes from the 80s.
I adored Samantha, great one liners, and I was ridiculously happy for Charlotte!!
Miranda I liked the least, even though I had warmed to her alot during the last episode.
Overall great fun, great entertainment.

I only saw the film yesterday (as was suffering severe pregnancy fatigue when it was on at the cinemas :o) and I can't agree more with your assessment. I found it all contrived, very badly acted and padded out beyond belief. They should have either done another series or left it as it was. The American in Paris part deux was the perfect ending anyway :)
