I might be in the minority, but I believe that this reboot will stay close to the standards of the original. Despite the content of Mr. MacFarlene's shows, he is surely capable of writing more family friendly material. How the show will be executed, I believe, will have to depend on who their target market for this show is. The Flintstones in it's heyday was a primetime sitcom that catered to adults. However, as time progressed reruns started appearing on kid-friendly hours and spinoffs, like The Flintsones Kids and Pebbles and Bam-Bam, seemed to target children specifically as the demographic. Because of the most recent venues the show has aired (Cartoon Network and Boomerang), one would assume that any new installment of the franchise would be aimed at either kids or families. But this is airing on Fox"s Animation Domination, which we all know has raunchy content which would alienate most families. The shows that least offends are probably The Simpsons and Bob's Burgers. Therefore, I would assume that if the show is going to be marketed to families, it would feature content similar to the afformentioned. If the show is to be marketed to a more 'adult' audience, then we could possibly see more of the standard MacFarlene handywork. But considering that The Flintstones is Warner Bros. most recognizable and profitable Hanna-Barbera brand, they will probably try to make the show appeal to the broadest demographics as possible. Knowing this, I would safely assume that The Flintstones will be family-friendly content wise, simply because I would think this would be the most economically viable for a brand that has already penertrated popular culture and is familiar to most demographics.
