Basically big WTF scary moments in animation.

Alot are from Courage mainly:

Girl playing a violin all sweetly, Courage sighs in joy, she turns around with the most demonic scary face of all time and the violin goes all scratchy.

The Queen of the Black Puddle scares me as a whole in both forms.

King Ramses

Oh and "I'm Not Stu!" From Rugrats

So what are other scary moments in animation?

I could swear there already was a thread like this. But anyhow, here goes:

The climax of Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
The Boogeyman from The Real Ghostbusters
ANY episode of The Inhumanoids
The freakshow machines from The Brave Little Toaster.

The opening (and really first episode) of the show mutant league.

To summarize:

A soccer game is going on in a stadium that's built above an abandoned nuclear waste site. A giant earthquake happens, causing all sorts of havoc. People Transform into mutants. end of story.

THAT OPENING GAVE ME NIGHTMARES WHEN I SAW IT AS A KID.

but don't take my word for it, see for yourself here:

such as? Also: i didnt really watch alot of cartoons from the 80's and stuff, and well anyway to me, it was scary. I mean both a: the level of detail of it, and B: the nature of exactly HOW and WHY said mutations occured, really kinda freaked me out.

TMNT
Inhumanoids
Street Sharks
Toxic Crusaders
The Mask
Spider man TAS
Godzilla: The Series
Darkwing Duck
On second thought, it seems this occured more often in the 90's.

you dont know scary >_>.

how are shows like The mask and Spiderman TAS scary? Because they have monsters in it? and Darkwing DUCK!? come on. I mean sure, those shows have monsters in them, but do they have scenes of NORMAL people graphically transforming into mutated freaks? Well...mabye toxic crusaders.....but that was based on a troma product, where stuff of that nature is part of their style.

As far as I can remember, the cartoon that really scared me was Fern Gully:The Last Rainforest.

There were several parts that had this creepy music that I can't describe, and weird drum music that caused me to hate this film.

The weird Smoke guy didn't help any either.

The original My Little Pony pilot back in the 1980's. You've got a monster who threatens death by beheading, as well the nightmare fuel that was turning several ponies into fire breathing monsters through the use of dark magic.

I refer you to the very last thing you see before the end credits to the Tom Goes to the Mayor episode "Spray a Carpet or Rug". It's only on screen for a couple of seconds, but there's PLENTY of build-up to it. I used it as my avatar once.

One I just recent revisited is from the Hey Arnold! episode Part-Time Friends. In a flashforward to a point in Arnold and Gerald's future as old men who are no longer friends, Arnold's grandpa Phil shows up at the end appropriately aged looking like a zombie and laughing until his jaw falls off. I remember that kinda creeping me out as a kid.
