Russell Brand on Newsnight (01/10/10)

You put zero thought into what you post, don't you?

Calling people proles because they take an opposite view to you doens't make them so. It's clear you think you are on the cool side of the debate, but that belief doesn't make you right, and doesn't make you smart. In fact you come across like a spotty sixth former whose opinion on everything is misinformed and not really worth the effort of reading.

I've never watched a programme of his in its entireity but I saw part of his stand-up show the other night about meeting the Queen and his take on James Blunt did make me laugh. On the bits I've seen over the years he does seem to have an eloquence and great understanding of worRAB. I think behind the "madness" is someone very intelligent

Why not call them Private Eye readers, that tome was equally scathing of the pair of tools.

But that wouldn't fit into your simplisitic world view, would it?

Exactly! I heard the actual broadcast and most of what happened was started by Jonathan Ross. Both Ross and Brand decided to take it to the next level.

I wish we could have him back, I used to love his radio 2 show along with Jonathan's too and Steven Merchant's seems now the BBC2 have given up on comedy radio shows and nothing like that on these days, so sad. It was only a joke taken too far yes and not right, but it shouldn't ever have been broadcasted as it should of passed through a screening before going out. Blown totally out of proportion and now we have to live with losing one of our greatest comedians as we very rarely see him now.

He is no idiot, I was shocked, he sounded like one of the most intelligent men in the world with the use of language, never seems to pause for breath even, I never knew he could talk like that and was very surprised, I think Paxman was too. If anyone never saw it, I think the extended version is on the newsnight website, its really worth a view. I really wish I could speak like that and know all those worRAB.

Thats him though, you've probably never heard him like this because when else has he the chance to talk about his philosophies and thoughts in intellectual company? certainly not on paul o'grady or the chris moyles show.

I thought he came across really well and his point about the media making something out of it, just to suit their own agenda was spot on. I think Jeremy Paxman quite noticeably enjoyed interviewing him too.

He's definately no idiot, but he seriously acts up in these interviews. I think he forgot he wasn't in America, which is where he normally tries to come across as a Dickens character.

From listening to tons of his radio shows where he's basically chatting with his mates, I doubt he acts how he does in that interview very often. Not completely, anyway.

EDIT: I'm talking more about the Paul O Grady interview than this one.
