Rush

RS are incredibly biased against prog and metal, and even jazz to a lesser degree... Their 500 greatest albums list had seven jazz albums, SEVEN.... Three Miles Davis albums, two John Coltrane albums, One Ornette Coleman album and one Stan Getz album.

On their list of 100 greatest artists, only one jazz artist made the list, Miles Davis.... And he was below Eminem and AC/DC.

And then theres the infamous guitarists list... Hardly any jazz players at all.... Only Les Paul and John McLaughlin, and guess what?... They were heaps below Jack White, Jack f*cking White.... Apparantly Django Reinhardt and Wes Montgomery were not good enough for the list.... But Joan Jett sure was.

Biased soul sucking clowns.

hes not a bad vocalist at all IMO...his tone takes a while to get used to but as an actual singer he is above average with some decent range...but theres a hell of a lot more to geddy than his vocals...dont forget hes one of the most gifted bass players to ever roam the earth. ;)

I voted for "Hemispheres".

I actually prefer "Natural Science," and the "The Camera Eye" as songs, and I do consider them epics, but I think of "Hemispheres" as more of a true epic because of length.

Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Anthrax...just to name a few. :)

You have a great point though, Rush should be in the hall of fame, but then again, Black Sabbath & Lynyrd Skynyrd JUST got in for some reason or another.

Yup, Rush is good.

My favorite song is Red Barchetta...

I'd say Moving Pictures or Hemispheres are the best albums.

Although, Snakes and Arrows was an awesome concert!!!

Well not everything, they have had their low points just like every other band... It's just that even when they are at their worst, people are still interested because of the ridiculous amount of effort they put into all of their work.

Think you`ll find that most music buRAB and rock enthusiasts love this group (they are very popular on these boarRAB) Rush are the kind of group that you listen to, to really get into rock music:laughing: They`re popular for their superb technical ability, complex songwriting, shifting styles and even their dodgy lyrics:laughing:

The Rush Albums to have are: Moving Pictures, 2112, A Farewell to Kings, Grace Under Pressure, Permanent Waves in that order, plus a whole load of excellent live material.

Each person has the fav in the group and Geddy Lee was always mine with his unique voice and big bass lines.

Personally i think people think they can get away with trashing rush just because they sound so different. listen to the music people! the rythym is spot on, the band never gets off track and they have some of the best sounRAB and songs in rock. long live RUSH!

Yesterday after returning home from visiting relatives in West Virginia's foothills, I drove through New York City, and the drive was just long enough where I could play the camera eye all the way through. It was a perfect 11 minutes of my life.
