Right Stuf's 12 Days of Christmas Sale 2009 Edition Talkback

Hm.....once when I get my check on Monday, yeah, I think I'll definitely invest in the Mezzo series from a few days ago--saw Mezzo Forte(the movie which spawned the series) and it was actually pretty entertaining. And it's only $15 bucks--I don't see why not.

@GWOtaku: Aw, ya think so? I kinda liked the first couple of episodes. Couple being literal, but I was actually thinking about lookin' into that....only $24 bucks....hm...damn, idk.

I just started watching Ouran it's actually pretty damn good. Shame I don't have $60 bucks to spare--just a kid, ya know?

Aha, finally something I think I'll pick up. Up until now (day 11) it's been either items I'm not interested in or that I already own. But I think I'll have to get Romeo x Juliet for $50!

Day 12 offers the last deals, with all sales being good for one more week after this. It's Licensed by Royalty ($20), Blue Drop ($20) and...GiTS' The Laughing Man ($8). Boo! People, buy the series. You can get a season at a reasonable price with any decent sale. Amazon and Rightstuf are selling them for $25 or less right now, in fact.

If you're like me you probably haven't heard of those two series and Licensed by Royalty has no product description, so here's a summary I dug up with ANN's database:

That's a bit misleading. Don't they usually throw at least one more day into the sale? and usually the extra day is big grab bag of sales instead of the three-a days.

Day 12 was disappointing. I was hoping it would be like last year, when they saved the best (Beck) for last. Still, I will buy one thing from this sale. Hopefully the suggestions I get from people here will prove as valuable as they did last year (Beck). So people, what should I get? These are the three I'm thinking about getting right now:

1. D.Gray-man DVD Bargain Bundle (Hyb)
2. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion DVD Part 1 (Hyb) Limited Edition
3. Ghost in the Shell: Solid State Society DVD (Hyb) (but I'll probably wait until after I get the first movies and series)

However, I'm thinking about all of these based on the fact that I've seen at least some of them before, and last year, I had never seen any of Beck, but I bought that based on people's suggestions, and I love it infinitely more than any other anime on that sale last year that I've seen. In other worRAB, I'm open to any suggestions you have based on my tastes that I hope I've made clear after posting on these forums for over 2 years and over 2000 posts. I still have a week left before the sale enRAB, and I'll probably wait until then to make my purchase, to give people the most time possible to make their suggestions, to give myself the most time possible to make up my mind, and in case they add some more deals in that time. Thanks, guys. I know I can count on you.

There's still the "Bundle of Anime Joy" (or the + in the 12+ Days of Christmas sale) which leaRAB me think there will be even pain inflicted upon my wallet.

The only damage done:
1) Big Windup Season 1, Part 2
2) D.Gray-Man Season 1, Part 2
3) Heroic Age Season 1, Part 2

I was expecting more, personally.

As a whole, nothing here that really inspires me.

I would have considered Haruhi if it was a budget collection and not limited editions.

I'm a big Tenchi fan but what I've seen of Sasami doesn't inspire me to watch another second of it.

I'd need to sample Emma before buying it.

Love Hina is the only of the batch I own and I'd recommend it to others. It is a good and often hilarious harem comedy, although Naru's slapstick violence eventually starts to feel like sadism (and ultimately the way I've been able to justify watching it is by realizing Keitaro is a masochist and actually likes it).

Mezzo has a decent if not tremendous story but not good enough to warrant purchasing. Plus, it has very poor animation.

Ouran really was funny but not quite funny enough. I never liked the character design either.

I've always considered buying Abenobashi but once again I realize it's not quite worth owning.

I actually liked Ugly Yet Beautiful World, it strikes me very much as Elfin Lied "Lite" but I'd rather watch Elfin Lied.

Of course, take this advice with the knowledge that I am not the type that owns a bookcase of anime and only buys the stuff I REALLY love.

Big Windup! and Romeo x Juliet, people! That's what I'm diggin', at least. I would consider Trigun, too - nearly 80% off of MSRP is RIDICULOUS - but I've been achin' for those two for a while now, and 50% is good enough for me.

They did add another day of deals, and this one has 13 of them. None of them jump out at me, but who knows? Now I'm sure they won't add any more, so I can really look at all the options. Six more days. Hmm... What should I get?

Haha, I'm not surprised how heavily discounted Initial D is, considering that Funi is poised to redub it.

TZ reviews were brutal, but Glass Fleet is awfully cheap...

If I had more funRAB and completed my Christmas shopping, I would have jumped at the following things

Haruhi Suzumiya LE Bundle
Big Wind Up Bundle
Trigun Remix
Hell Girl Boxet
D. Grey-Man Bundle
High School Host Club Ouran Bundle
Magical Shopping Arcade
Romeo x Juliet
Baki the Grappler Season 1-2

You know what? This might of been a blessing in disguise for me, since I probably couldn't afford all of this at once.
