Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

It very nearly did. I stand by that.

I see you edited in some further comments but the problem is, I guarantee you a thinking viewer is going to look at that on Adult Swim someday and wonder what the hell is up. The explanation you and Vallen make can be argued, but I don't think the episode tries to support it in any way. And I get the point about wanting to win with honor, I said that from the start, but you also say that the message only works if Schniezel's move is illegal. I disagree. The key issue was that Schniezel made a move that would have obviously cost him the game if LeLouch had taken advantage of it. He did not do so, prompting Schniezel to compare him unfavorably to the Emperor with the express purpose of trying to tick him off. The point would have been the same with a valid move.

So there it is. If we're still at an impasse, perhaps its best to agree to disagree and move on to other aspects of the episode. I'd like to hear more opinions about Nina and Milly and such.

Just watched the ep.
I don't understand why people are all of a sudden damning Suzaku. He's done nothing out of character so far. In his mind he brought a criminal to justice who was fighting a war that he viewed could'nt be won and also saved the lives of many people. He could have just as easily killed Lelouch right there in the cave and been done with it.

Note I'm not saying I agree with what he did but I can't really hate him either as he just acted as he normally would. But I gotta say one thing that did bug me is all these people having Geass. I was alright with the Emperor having it but now Rollo does too? Seems like their going over kill with it

Plus, the Emperor has left everything in Schneizel's hanRAB anyway.

I'm looking back at the summaries for 20-22 from this post and
of course I'm interested in 21, since it's about Suzaku. Saying "The gentleness before isn't there anymore" worries me a bit, but considering his laugh at the end of 19, it makes sense. I'm still hopeful of a team-up between Lelouch and Suzaku, and the summary for 22 seems like that is the most likely time for something to happen.

The summary for 20 is especially vague. "What's left for him is isolation." That's nice, but not much of a clue to think over. Meh.

I think it's kind of too bad that Schneizel's fear of Geass hasn't been gotten into more. They could've made him a quite an anti-villain by having him forcefully make the argument that a peace brought about by Lelouch's Geass is just fake and an example of the tyranny that he hates, to which the obvious answer is that Schneizel's borab-them-into-submission plan is, at best, no better.

Well, that could still happen. Wouldn't be shocked if this were a debate had with Nunally.

There's definitely hope. If they take this narrative to its logical conclusion, Suzaku can defeat Bismark only once he's found something to fight for again. We know he gets Lancelot Albion next episode but he "looks for a fight.....no longer the gentle person he once was." Suzaku will be throwing that "brute force" around for awhile longer, I think, perhaps until the last couple of episodes. He could also stay angry and fight in vain I guess, but I'm trying to be positive. I'm holding out hope for a Lancelot/Guren team up.

I'm kind of curious to see where the Psyzaku (how's that for a nickname?) angle will go. If he's gone really nutty at this stage, I have to wonder what end he'll have..

Suzaku: "MWAHAHAHA!" *slashes through allied Knightmares to get to enemies*
Gino: "Dude, stop TKing!!"

Yes, a baka hammer.

Because the key to a women's heart is smash her in the head with a hammer until she finRAB you "kind of cute". Then hit her with that hammer a few more times until she finRAB you "positively dreamy" and your set.

Anyone notice that Cornelia is more GAR than any of the male characters in Code Geass. Something is wrong with that...

Not having actually seen the episode, I'm not going to make any final judgments. Context has a way of clearing things up, after all. However, I'm really really unhappy with the way things turned out.
Lelouch and Suzaku getting so close to reconciling and then it being ruined by Schneizel and co? And now Lelouch hates Suzaku, thinking he betrayed him. Gah! I was afraid of that happening, and of course it did. Of course we have to have them both being stupid about the whole thing at one point or another. Rawr.
As for Suzaku and Euphie, why is anyone surprised he is still thinking about her? He's gone for over a year with the knowledge his best friend killed the woman he loved and that he might never get an answer for why. I mean, he was her knight and she died on his watch. That's a lot to deal with in itself, but on top of all his other baggage? Suzaku isn't good at dealing with things, we know that. And I'm not saying he handled it right or wrong (considering I have yet to see the episode), but to be angry that he still cares about her is just silly.

As for Lelouch moving on to fight for a bigger purpose, he sunk pretty low before he was able to recognize that. Refrain anyone? And it took the worRAB and actions of his loved ones to make him realize it as well. Suzaku doesn't have that luxury to fall back on. He has the military surrounding him; not very conducive to working through personal problems.

Ahahaha. Apparently Sunrise really got mad from the early leak of Shirley's death, they're keeping spoilers of episode 15 out of the TV guides. This is funny, because those normally give us more info than the monthly summaries from Newtype, Animage and Animedia. Meaning, they don't want to spoil us on what happens in episode 15, it's apparently far too important to spoil.

Now I understand why even the extended preview has that still frame of C.C. and Lelouch in a weird looking art gallery of memories.

I think that was only in the comp movies, and then she still never returned to screen (I think that was only to show Kamille it was a girl he was fighting with)

Nuh-uh. A good general does not abandon his army as Lelouch did. Truly great generals, like Patton and Eisenhower, had the moral authority to say that you may not come back, but you are fighting for something good. Armies win battles, break things, and accomplish objectives. Soldiers come together as one unit for a common cause, as you say. Far from being independent of that, commanding officers are the ones that keep it all together. But Lelouch's top priority was a personal priority, and we've seen that he was prepared to put the goals of his army second to that.
