Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

Geez, what's that, the third post on the bunny costume? Down, boy.

Oh, and my jesting mocking was vindicated by the fact that the mobster ended up dead too on top of being kicked in the face. Victory is mine...

Well apparently the majority have just focussed on me complaining about Ougi and Viletta. You know how I talk- I pretty much weigh in good and bad on everything. The fact of the matter is we ended up talking about the romance angle more because certain individuals apparently can't hear a bad word against something they like, so it's easier to just make me out to be a hating moaner.

Amazing episode. Lelouch has nothing, Rolo is dead (although I feel bad for him), and the Black Knights are ******bags. Can't wait to see what happens next.

You think Lelouch will become more sadistic or something since there's nothing holding him back? I mean if I was him I'd be pretty pissed and I'd want to get revenge, but then again Lelouch isn't me. He seems to just wanna get at Charles but whatever. It's hit the fan...again.

As someone else said:

1) Ash Like Snow (great song)
2) Jinn (R1 2nd op)
3) worlRAB end
3) Colors

The Code Geass OPs do give a ton of hints on what to expect in the future, they just chose to be a bit more syrabolic. That's why there's such a big fuss about the space scenes in the new OP. They would not be in the OP unless the show was going into space.

In one example R1 OP had Villetta and Ogi side by side as a remind that they may still have feelings for each other. Which turned out to be true. Etc, there are plenty of examples. Which is also why Kallen and Susaku's mecha being shown side by side is causing such a big deal. What does it mean? Because it means something.

The chart is a little sloppy or plain incorrect sometimes, but I could see her being wounded.

Unrealistic, yes...but not unprecedented, in anime, fiction or Code Geass itself.

HOW he dies is just as important as if he dies, true. A meaningless "gets shot by a stray bullet Tomino-style" death would be wrong. Something where everyone willingly accepts his atonement would be right.

At least his death is a 'maybe'. I just know Nunnaly is going to get whacked.

3 episodes, and a lot of ground to cover judging by those spoilers.

It's a popular Sunrise anime. Therefore the masses must be sheep. This allows the girlish male leaRAB to look angsty. This makes fangirls squeal. This makes them buy merchandise. This makes sponsors very happy.

I think part of the problem is how quick the swing was. The Black Knights were very loyal to him and then suddenly they all started to go "I don't trust him and at the first excuse I'll turn on him". I think in general that's a big problem with any modern anime- loyalties are made and broken at the drop of a hat.

Oh you see, I love Spider-Man 3 and star wars. Then again, I never take them more serious then an action flick. Its all in what the viewer expects from a story. If your expecting a serious exploration of moraility in Code Geass then I feel your going to be sorely disappointed.

I think the issue is that Rolo is very needy. He's so dependent on Lelouch now that he feels literally threatened by any possible competition. Nunnally is the most obvious case, and I'm pretty convinced that this is how he saw Shirley when she was ranting about how she wanted to help. Mentioning Nunnally was the final straw that made a suspicious, already building temper erupt. He wants Lelouch to himself and will do anything to stop anyone else from getting in the way.

It's possible I'm reading too much subtlety into it, but that's what I got out of the scene.

The stories of Gundam and Geass don't have much in common, I could go on and on about this but I don't see the need. Geass is character driven and would be nowhere without LeLouch as the hero, whereas Gundam's narrative takes a wider perspective. They are both mecha shows produced by Sunrise that are airing close together though, so some comparison is inevitable even if they aren't telling the same kind of story. We have included Full Metal Panic in this sometimes, though.

Whoa whoa whoa, what's this now?!

Maybe so, but if that were the case I can't believe someone wouldn't have remarked on it anyway. No one muttered this off in the corner? Logically, I certainly don't see any reason for Kallen to keep quiet.

It's true that Bartley doesn't know everything, but he knew enough to be very scared about it. He doesn't need to see the whole picture to be repulsed at whatever was being asked of him and his lackeys.

I suppose Schneizel could turn out to have a Geass or be given one at the last minute, but so much has been made of LeLouch opposing his father that I don't think they'll put it aside. So far Schneizel has been portrayed as the last great obstacle for LeLouch to defeat before he can realize his ultimate goal (i.e. defeating Charles), but so far as we've seen they have no hostile history and LeLouch has no specific vendetta or hatred against him. He knows he has information about his mother's murder, but that's all.

Also, Charles and V.V. are basically symmetry against the partnership of LeLouch and C.C. Much is starting to be made of this connection between V.V. and Charles. In contrast, for all we know Schneizel doesn't even know that V.V. exists.

Even though it's now supposedly 'Lelouch vs Nunally' till the end, I think Nunally had second thoughts even before Lelouch came in. During the time she was wiggling around on the ground for the key, it sounded like she had a 'I should be supporting Schneizel...but ' moment, (specifically she said "I must stop brother...yet..") despite what she said to Lelouch when he appeared. I don't think Nunally is going to suddenly stand up and and start pushing her brother around, nor do I think she's completely 100% on the war path against him just yet. She wants to stop him but I can't see her going so far as to blow them all up or do something that will obliterate them both at the same time. [and if she does, well then I hate children] Other than that it's not like she really has the power to do anything but blink.
