Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

It is still there, but the point is that he is finally growing up. Starting the OoTBK he was selfish and did it purely for his own reasons, now he has come to the realization that these people need him now, and it is more than him. Is he still a bit selfish? yes, but he realizes that there is more to this than just him, there are people and lives, etc.

I don't get how this season has sucked though, I mean, the fights have been great, the Tianzi-arc was well done, Guren-upgrade was tight, the Nunally twist was well delivered. We just haven't really gotten any character focus, which is what I would like more.

C.C. I believed turned out well, I would have liked to at least known if she was mortal or not, but I think she came off all the more hopeful after being cynical for the majority part. Kallen was also alright to a relative degree. Sure she got in rather sticky fanservice situations early in the series, and I would have liked to learn more about her family, but essence she comes off well in the end too, especially since she understood what was going on.

Suzaku... I'll let my review of the series say it for me. But first....
----------------------------------------

If there is one statement that I can use to describe to the inherent flaws of Geass R2, it can be best summarized as them trying to let the diverse audience groups each have their cake and eat it too. It seems that a more arabitious story was not enough for the production crew in R2. From the look of things they wanted to amplify the action, the nuraber of characters, the twists, and of course the fanservice.

All is well and good but when it begins to involve itself at times within episodes (even to the point of pointless filler); it made the show rather jarring. This was most especially present when the plot had to keep restarting after every Ashford episode. Then it would become even worse when new characters would appear out of the blue halfway through the series, or even needlessly resurrect. This makes the usual jarring fare of the series become rather

At an office in Japan somewhere...

Generic staff guy #1: Okay people, we need fanservice ideas for episode 20.
Generic staff guy #2: Its hard to decide, so we know what that means. To the dart board of ideas! *chucks a dart*
Generic staff guy #1: ...maid outfit day at Ashford? I dunno, that seems kinda--
Generic staff guy #2: THE LUCK OF THE DART BOARD HAS SPOKEN!

That's what it feels like. Season 1 had some fanservice, but its obvious by now that season 2 is making a much bigger deal out of it. I'm not happy with that. I can at least trust Gundam 00 season 2 to be like its first season, right? Right?

Since she brought it up, I'm thinking Nagisa is more likely.

No. My only fear is that it will happen before we can get the "Rolo must die" fan club T-shirts into production.

What's that? There is no such fan club? Well, there should be.

While it hasn't been confirmed, I am pretty sure C.C. isn't an immortal anymore, because Charles was going to do so, but she acted against that during the middle of the process, hence why she lost all memories of 'C.C.'.

I'm sure it'll be confirmed when we actually see her forehead, unless we have and I missed it, because if she doesn't have the Geass syrabol she isn't immortal.

Oh and I really don't get why everyone hates Rolo so much...

He doesn't realize what he is doing is wrong, and you know, out of everyone thus far, aside from maybe C.C. he is probably the most loyal to Lelouch.

I get that he killed Shirley, but again, in his eyes it wasn't wrong, she knew something that could potentially put Lelouch in harm, he eliminated that threat.

Unfortunately, it is very true. I've watched the episode.

The scene went like
Suzaku: There's someone who wants to speak to you. I'm calling that person now.
Lelouch: Huh?
Suzaku: From next week this person will be the new Governor.
Lelouch: Huh? The Governor wants to speak to an ordinary student?
Suzaku: This is Kururugi. Yes, he's right in front of me now. Yes.
*Suzaku hanRAB over the phone*
Lelouch: (I don't quite understand a few of the worRAB in Lelouch's line here, so I'm leaving it entirely untranslated.)
Nunnally: Hello, Big Brother?
Lelouch: *gasp*
Nunnally: It's you, Big Brother, isn't it? It's me. It's Nunnally. I'm going to be the Governor... Huh? Can you hear me? Big Brother? It's Nunnally!

well, just saw ep 4, now i realy feel sorry for Rolo, looks like Le****** is planing to use him and eventualy throw him away, hehe, what a bastard. Still, i hope Lelouch DOESNT get whats coming to him, well, at least not befoire he actualy acomplishes something.

Looks like Suzaku's here to shake things up.

That'd mean siding with Britannia, I don't think she'd go that far...whether she could start having doubts is another matter though, I suppose.

Yeah, that was welcome. And it could be somebody likes her, perhaps she'll be made sane yet.

Well, when Lelouch Geassed Cornelia in the finale, she mentioned that the Emperor and Schneizel were involved. So, for Lelouch to get any more answers, he has to go to them. And he is already going after them anyway. He's not going to get anywhere on the matter until he can confront them.

Shirley= yaoi?

I mean, there was that one with Lelouch and Suzaku...

GENERIC? FLOW? GENERIC!?!??!

Nonsense.

That's communism.

Oh and I also like "Remeraber" by them more than "Colors" but "Colors" is still up there on my list.

See, I have this series figured as a very harsh criticism of Colonialism, but I hadn't thought of this. SounRAB worthy of studying. And true to my word, I think I'll leave things at that for now and leave deeper thoughts for another time.

This video is 2 things. The first is the ad for Newtype July 2008 issue, which includes a 20 page Code Geass R2 character guide as well as a 100 page Gundam 00 "perfect book". The second is the proper episode preview for Turn 9, LelouchXKallen accidental kiss included.
