Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

I don't...really...likeFlowI'msorry.

Colors was nice and catchy but I wouldn't rate their stuff as top tier anime themes. Kinda generic in my mind.

Or a Jar Jar of erabarrassment (Actually Destiny pretty much took care of that)

Hey did anyone notice that Nina wasn't racist in today's episode?

One could imagine the Geass writers having a long drawn out argument detailing those who want to keep the story along, those who want to retain the fanservice, with the former threatening to continue the story and not give into fanservice, and the latter threatening to have another Ashford episode. Since all cannot proceed without some consensus or compromise, then... well you get the idea.

Poor pacing, speak for yourself. The pacing of the show is just perfect for me. We get great action followed by some comedy followed by action. And always some fanservice. Its MUCH better pacing than gundam 00 which had several episodes where nothing seemed to be happening besides pointless intervention followed more of the same with the story going nowhere. Most blogs I read and the comments posted love code geass's pacing. The only point of disagreement is whether or not you liked the middle part with Mao. And my sign shows my opinion.

As for racism, err. What? An anime can't handle racism? I don't see you complain about gundam 00 promoting the idea that there is no god. (I imagine anyone religious might complain about that) What would you like, britain being nice guys that just want to conquer the world for the great good. Or how about a final villain that wants to conquer the world for no other reason then ego and who got barely develop before getting killed off.

Besides, even racist orange-kun was fighting in Japan because he was part of lelouch's mother's guarRAB and felt responsible for her death. A stain on his honor. Often times the racism in code geass is just the outward face of much deeper problems an individual has. Another example, Villetta's racism stems from her insecurity in not being a full noble. She just a Knight but dream of being a hereditary noble. So she looks down on the elevens as social scum as she tries to clirab the social ladder.

What I like about the racism in code geass is that its not black + white. Characters have their reasons for having their flaws. It makes for much better and more believe villains then say a certain mercenary who just likes to kill people.

Me thinks some people are just to sensitive with the Japanese always being the good guys in anime and whites being the villains. I don't mind it all.

And as if to drive home the point, this episode seems full of them...if I write a parody, I'm going to have a field day.

________

Here's Cornelia in season 1 for comparison...if that lady is her, then that's quite a makeover. Unless the lighting is changing her appearance, like how Marina Ismail appeared to have brown hair in Gundam 00's first OP...

I liked her in season 1. Here she seems have been redone to be more appealing to fanboys, but I think her old look radiated authority and commanded respect. She at least doesn't seem to have lost that badass "cross me, and you'll regret it" look in her eyes. I'll have more to say after I see the episode.

I really love the expressions on the faces of the inner circle of the OoTBK when the Suzaku kills Lelouch. It really looks like they figured out what was happening. Kaguya is mortified, Tamaki looks like he's going to cry, and Ougi looks like he just realized how wrong he'd been.

I doubt they were always this crazy. When they had Lelouch and Nunnally, they probably had normal dreams and arabition, and loved them normally. At least Marianne did, Charles had so many kiRAB, who really knows.

If I am not mistaking, this pact was originally a Charles / V.V. pact, Charles later sold Marianne on it and joined them, which anger V.V. because it was suppose to a brotherly pact, which lead to Marianne's murder. That is my theory.

Anyway when Lelouch and Nunnally were born, I don't think they were planning on freesing time, and doing what ever they were planning on doing.

The creators have bluntly stated the shows mecha designs are based off gundam. They don't try to hide that fact at all. Their doing it on purpose. Because its funny to see gundam mecha and weapon ideas done better in this show.

No, they're being shown together for effect, because they're rivals. They have similar tech because, as I said, Lloyd's been tampering with the Guren.

Though after this episode, I think the possibility that Suzaku will turn to Lelouch's side has increased tenfold since Shirley told him that he should forgive Lelouch and it seemed to have an effect on him.

I think the original plan was a bit more...not so crazy, but then after his wife was 'killed' he went off the deep end. But I agree, he definately could have done things differently, he could have gone about things in a better way.

Even so, he had been loyal to them for SO long, and did SO much for them, it pretty much comes down to the Black Knights being blind with..anger[?] that they forgot every development they had ever made towarRAB independence under his leadership. So what hes a prince? What difference does it make? He's ultimately helping them achieve their goal. Pretty much, the Black Knights are just as racist as Brittianna that they couldn't except who their leader was. I'm sure the fact that he had a geass didn't help the situation, but even before that was revealed they had a cow over Lelouch.

Not saying that's bad or that you can't do that, heaven forbid you definitely can...but for one I don't see the point unless that's all you want to do, even if there are in fact things worth laughing about (well, duh!). If so, then carry on, but I like to try and do a little more while the show lasts, if nothing else.

Dammit, I know better than to poke through Random Curiosity when I'm looking for other reviews.

Really, they need to save those kind of screencaps for when you click on the link to the actual review.
