I can see your point, although I don't really see why Bond has to go through this 'growth' period - the character was fully formed. But I suppose they had to do something different with it, and I do think CR was a good Bond film, the best for years. And Daniel Craig is a fine Bond, just for me he doesn't capture certain aspects, but I'm interested to see what they do with him for QOS. It's a relief they got rid of the cheesier elements.

I agree that Brosnan was a better Bond than Moore, just that the films (apart from Goldeneye, which was developed with Dalton in mind as Bond) were rubbish, and he was a but too plastic.

yes I wonder what the theme song is going to be like.

I saw For Your Eyes Only last night and I hope the stories they said a few months ago about this being a funny Bond are wrong. it's meant to be a spy story not a comedy and that is where they went wrong with the Roger Moore ones.

I like Casino Royale and hope they continue in the vain of that but with a few less stunts and a more actual spying, intrigue and suspense.

Once I finish my latest book I plan to get into Ian Fleming as i've never read any of his books so far

Are you here to just cause trouble? Well, whatever your reasons for being so blatantly rude you have been reported. I know I was not involved in this debate but I think you deserve a good kick up the backside.:)

Anyways, I feel Daniel Craig makes an excellent Bond- Casino Royale is probably one of the best of all the Bond films in my book! :)

Craig is way too ugly to be play Bond. The movie Bond is classically hanRABome - Craig ain't. In a Bond context he looks like a potato that's been left out in the sun too long. Seems to have the charm of one too.

Sometimes in life you have to be a bit like Simon Cowell and be brutally honest!

Everything you've said is your own opinion and I don't see why yours should overrules anyone elses... Craig might not be 'typically' hanRABome but I would like to think that there is more to Bond than being hanRABome and I think Craig brings that to the character.

Three things really bothered me about DC as bond
1. His fight scenes made me laugh they were that bad, he's no action star
2. He actually thought it was about time that Bond kissed a man  People have mentioned that he's so keen on winning a oscar he sees a shock gay scene as a way of achieving his dream.
3. He looks like he's won a competition to be bond for a day

I just watched the new trailer.. and.. eh.. I dunno what I think about this one.

It frustrates me to see they've gone for yet another plot where by Bond spenRAB most of the film with a woman whom he just happens to sleep with a few times along the way. It's reminding me of "The World Is Not Enough". I hope it's not like that. I appreciate there has to be a female role in the Bond films but they do tend to over do it sometimes.. esspecially when the female just happens to be the ex lover of the bad guy.

Mathieu Amalric looks great, even tho he seems to be playing the exact same style of part he played in "Munich", which as it happens, Daniel Craig was in that too. But I don't care, he plays the part perfectly.

What's with the digital wall in M's office. A little OTT imho.

Anyway, I hope it's a good film.. I also hope there is another twist. Personally, I thought the end of Casino Royale where the strange bloke walked in and shot the guy at the end was the best part of the film. I love stuff like that. I love when they show you an entire film and then make you realise.. actually.. Bond and MI6 are just a tiny part of a bigger game. Love it. :)

Hi

does anyone know the runtime of the movie? I have checked Vue and they say it's only 106 Mins long

This seems very short for a James Bond movie.

I thought his fight scenes were good. Believable. He looks tough.

That was a joke... but seeing as Craig has played at least one gay character before I doubt it would be a huge shocker or Oscar-worthy stuff.

I think you're wrong and he makes a great Bond. He got slated so much before the first film came out but it was great; more real and Bond seemed much more relatable as a character. I think Craig brings a certain roughness to him rather than all this silly British class rubbish. Bond should be able to get his hanRAB dirty and Craig looks like the sort of man who could easily do just that.
