Quantum Of Solice

Does anyone think they will ever remake any previous films? There was a remake of Thunderball (made by a different company). Apparently some of the films were nothing like the Fleming books. I think You Only Live Twice is an example. There was never a volcano sequence for instance. And Moonraker was obviously nothing like the origial novel.

As for Quantum Of Solace. Yes it is an odd title but I cant wait for the film. Lets hope it lives up to Casino royale.

Worst bond ever!

Seriously Casino Royale was ruined by having DG as the lead, i love the bond films but how he was cast of still unknown to me

With respect, if you think this bloke is good looking, you need your head examining:

And more to the point, he looks NOTHING like James Bond.

And this is what Sean Connery looked like as Bond:

Connery WAS James Bond, Craig isn't even close. Connery was classically hanRABome, had real charm and confidence. Craig isn't even a quarter close to what Connery put on the screen. The Bond franchise has been so downgraded by Craig's casting the joke isn't even funny anymore. It's just sad and pathetic. If people love Craig as Bond, good for them, but Craig's casting is still pathetic.

By the way, the five previous BonRAB were all classically hanRABome - all chosen by the late Albert Broccoli. Guess who picked Craig? His daughter, Barbara Broccoli - a woman. I think a man knows what Bond should look like, not a woman. Not wishing to be sexist but Bond is meant to be a man's man sort of hero.

I know what you mean, there's something not quite right about him as Bond (although I don't hate him as much as the anonymous quote above ). He lacks sophistication. He's a good actor though, which makes a nice change after Brosnan.

He didn't ruin CR for me, but it would have been a much better film with a really charismatic Bond at the centre. I struggle to think who would be a good contemporary Bond out of the pool of actors today. Perhaps they should have gone with an unknown.

My top BonRAB were Connery (natch), and (I'm used to being on my own here) Timothy Dalton. Both had the suavity, charm and coldness necessary for the role.

Even more action than Casino Royale. I thought that the action scenes in Casino Royale were ace, especially at the beginning. Can't wait for this film.

No, no, no. Not "even more action"! Going down that route is what ruined the franchise.

What Bond neeRAB is tension, twists, intrigue, action and romance. In that order.

It might not even mention the worRAB "Quantum of Solace."

Just like Casino Royale's theme tune "You Know My Name" didn't mention the worRAB "Casino Royale."

I agree with you. But I have faith in the people who are currently in charge of the franchise.

I think that action which is within the context of creating more tension and twists is good, but just running around avoiding explosions etc is bad.

I'm insulting you because he's not as good looking as Connery or your implication the two most good looking BonRAB were Craig and Connery. YOU CANNOT COMPARE THE TWO. Connery was classically hanRABome, Craig isn't - no comparison. And they act nothing alike as Bond.

That's why I'm insulting you. Because you approve of a miscast actor as James Bond. I am a lifelong fan of Bond but no longer - this is because of Craig's casting and people like you supporting him. I've insulted you, I don't care.

There are plenty of incidents from Fleming's (only one "m") novels that haven't been used in the films. Almost the entire plot of Fleming's You Only Live Twice was junked for the movie; but the book, with its Garden of Death, was dark and haunting and would suit Craig's definitive Bond perfectly.

As for Bourne; Bond is Bond and Bourne is Bourne - and there's room for both. I enjoyed the Bourne trilogy, although I think the first was the best. Ultimatum was superbly staged; but strip away the flashy direction and you are left with a film that has no plot and not a hint of humour anywhere.

I thought DG was great and he's a far better actor than Moore ever was and even Brosnan was quite wooden in a lot of his films too
