First time poster. I just purchased a Bell 9241 and I'm having an issue with the remote. It is not being recognized by the receiver. The batteries are in the remote. I have followed the manual with holding down SAT and entering a code, then pressing the Record button. But this doesn't work. Also, the antenna is connected in the back of the unit. Is there something else I can try or do I have a dud remote/receiver?
I have a 9241 Remote (6.3/152101) and am wondering if anyone knows how to program a master power feature for my satellite receiver, TV and A/V receiver all with just one push of the power button to turn it all on and off??
Thanks,
New to Bell TV today. Shaw Direct has lost one more customer !
Are you pressing the # key before the record key ?.
If you can get to the Menu, go to 6, 1 , 3, System Info, then try pressing the Record Button once more, it should now syncronize the Remote to the receiver.
Does the 5800 remote have a green tab at bottom of remote? If so take the tab out by taking battery cover off and using your nail or coin to push up the tab. They take out the blue tab on 9242 remote and put green tab in. Go to sys info screen and press and hold rec button till lights flash.....enter a code ex. 01 then hit # and record once.
The scan goes through all the codes programmed in the remote. As previously posted, if the scan doesn't work, then the codes for that device are not available in the remotes firmware. Consider a universal remote instead.
9xxx remotes (UHF Pro 6 models) are not RF compatible with 5xxx remotes. You could try flipping the tab so it says "1" instead of "2". (That just flips a hidden switch in the remote.) Some remotes also have an A/B switch in the battery compartment. It might be worth looking for that and changing. I think it just changes UHF Pro bands though. UHF Pro remotes will control older receivers but only by using IR. That can be done by programming the AUX button with 01 to 15.
On Bell's UHF remote, menu navigation for my DVD player (I can get in to the menu, but I can't move around in the menu) as well as skipping forward and backward a track do not work. I have tried other codes for the same manufacturer (Zenith) and they either don't work at all or have the same lack of functionality. Not really a big deal until I buy something like a TV series on DVD in which I have to use the menu navigation keys. Does anyone have any tips on fixing this?
Yes I did press the # button before pressing the record button. I ended up calling Bell and they are sending me a new remote control. Hopefully this one will work.
Has anyone successfully been able to program their Bell 9241 remote to control an Onkyo SR-605 receiver? I've tried the device scanning, as well as all of the Onkyo amplifier codes in the manual however none of them seem to be doing anything. The Rogers remote seemed to be able to cover the basics such as audio, but it would be a shame having to use 2 remotes to control things now that I'm with Bell.
I'm trying to program my remote to operate my Panasonic amp. I've done the process a few times (hold aux till flashing, 2, star, power, then up ) till i'm at the end of the list but the only thing it does is turn the DVD player on and off a few times during the scan. I bought the 6.3 IR/UHF PRO remote and after a few tweaks i got it to work on my 6141 receiver. Is there something I'm missing with the amp, or do I have to look at a different remote.
I have a expressvu pvr 5900 and a expressvu hd 6131 in the same room. I want to program each remote to work solely with the receiver it originally came with. However both receivers change channels at the same time no matter which remote i use. Is their a way to program the remotes so that i can use one receiver at a time? Thanks for the help
Programming command sequences is rarely (if ever) possible on remotes designed to be shipped with residential grade devices. For more information on the remotes that have the capabilities (as Pinza mentions) see the Remote Control forum here: http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=49
