Programming BellTV Remotes

the confusion seems to be programming other components and programming a remote address code. Two different things entirely.

Try using the scanning option to locate a code in the Bell TV Remote.

I set up a 50" LG Plasma last weekend and used the Bell TV Remote, although it is a 9241 model.

If the code doesn't work for your device, use the random code search method mentioned in the first post
It may take some time
Don't press the up or down button too fast
Be patient, and it should work
If it doesn't, odds are the remote won't control your device

Firstly is it in SAT mode.?

Press and release the SAT button, then try it.

If not the Remote address might have changed somehow, try this;

Press and hold the SAT button untill ALL 4 lights flash. Let got of the SAT button.
Press 11 # the SAT button should flash 3 times, then the Record Button.

It should now work the Bell receiver.

I just hooked up the 9242 and all looks and sounds great, except that I can't get my Remote 1 to learn any of the supplied codes for my Marantz receiver.

I've tried the following codes: 651, 740, 742, 743, 764

Also tried the procedure to scan the remote control's memory when the code is not listed under: SETTING UP USING DEVICE CODES SCAN in manual.

I'm pretty sure I'm following the instructions correctly using the AUX mode to program my amp, but remote is still not learning it. In the end, I want Remote 1 to be able to control master volume, so I don't have to use 2 remote controls (one for BEV programming, the other just for pwr/volume on amp). Sorry bout the thread length.

Thanks! It is the sat remote.

Unfortunately that didn't work. While I was on vacation, my landlady borrowed the remote for her receiver upstairs, since I got it back, it hasn't worked. Would that have messed it somehow?

As times have changed I agree that the VCR button is probably not used very often, it would be nice if that could be re-programmed in some way to create AUX2.

When you have got to the end of the scan, I believe the light flashes differently.

I use three different remotes just to watch tv, not including blu-ray, ebox, etc...

Hi. Can someone tell me if there is a way to control a Panasonic Plasma TV (TCPXXV10) with the PVR 9241 version 6.4 remote. I tried almost all the code and even the scan without success.

Thank you very much.

Hi,

My remote for the 5800 is on the fritz and bought a 9242 #2 remote because it seemed like a better remote.

Doesn't seem to work on the 5800 is there something I can do to correct this?

Thanks

Glad to hear that it was the TV.

I will put my Crystal Ball under its' cloth now, until next time.......lol

What model Receiver.?
If it has a Card, pull the Card and see what the Remote Address is, then do what I said above, to the point the SAT flash's 3 times, that will change the Remote to match the Receiver.

Is it a Receiver that needs an Antenna behind to work.? If so, has that come off.?

Yes, I am pressing 2 prior to code input. I'll try all the supplied codes again, and also try randomly (but press the up or down slower); i'll get back to you on this one.

I just got a new receiver Onkyo TX-SR307, and have tried all the Remote Codes for Onkyo receivers, as per the "Bell" remote set-up instruction manual, and No Luck at all...???
(Yes I have used the number 2 (Aux) before the Onkyo codes)
I have tried the "Code Search" and everything one can do, but cannot get my Onkyo receiver to "Power On/Off" using the Bell remote...???
The Bell remote "Does" adjust the volume for my new receiver, but will not shut it off or on...???
I have read the other posts about "Programming Bell Remote Controls", and it seems other people are having the same problem as me...!!!
Does anyone know of any solutions to this problem...???
Will Bell be able to somehow fix this in the near future...???
Thanks for any help or comments...
I`ve got 4 remote controllers on my coffee table now... Help...!!!

Guys,

Need to program Bell 6131 remote to work Sony Surround fx900w.
Went thru all the codes in Bell book, plus scanning manually for 15 mins.

Still Nothing

Also read some where it might be 728 for sony.

But when I try to program 728 it programs as 722. (checking flashes)

Whats up with that?

Thanks for your help.
