Potc 2

Loved it!

Plain old fashioned entertainment. It was great to see the darker side of it too - after all, these people are pirates! Great mixture of comedy, adventure, action and horror. Wonderful characters too. The length of the film wasn't a problem at all when you are enjoying watching it. More please!

The fact that it didn't have a proper end didn't bother me in the slightest. In fact, the cliffhanger and surprise 'guest' was great. It is the middle part of a story after all. BTTF 2, The Two Towers, ROTJ...none of them had a proper, satisfying ending. They let you know more is coming. In fact, I probably prefer the ending to this one in comparison to the others mentioned because of the 'omg!' factor.

I'm definitely going to see it again - it's just something that HAS to be experienced on the big screen for maximum impact.

I've seen it! It's fantastic. It looked amazing. The acting was great. The script was very funny in places. Best Pirate film ever!!!

Yeah they filmed them back to back. I'm sure I read an interview with Keira that said something along the lines that they just went back and did various reshoots and pick up shots for 3 and now they're promoting 2. Aparently the lengthy post production is the reason for the 6 rather than 12 months gap. They also intend upon having the dvd of 2 out by xmas.

Johnny does seem wonderfully enthusiastic about the character. I suppose it depenRAB upon what happens with 2 and 3. If they're successful and popular I certainly wouldn't rule out more considering he's so keen to do it.

I was just reading on Chud.com which is reporting that they have read the current script of POTC3 and it appartently has a shocking ending that when the public leave the cinema after seeing it will be demanding a fourth POTC film!
Also yeah POTC2 and POTC3 were filmed at the same time!

In your opinion perhaps but there were a helluva a lot of people who loved it and enjoyed it. More than enough to make a 4th one likely, especially considering the box office business that this one has done. :)

Hmmm...They may have gotten the 2nd and 3rd film mixed up. I know the 2nd film has a shocking ending and that people are going to be clammering for the next one when they see it. Not sure why they'd have a shocking end to the 3rd though when the writers have said they've basically written a trilogy but could add more stories to the potc universe if a 4th was to be made.

YES! That was really annoying me..and im suprised how many other people didnt pick up on that. The carribean is huge...yet they all kept bumping into each other quite easily. One moment Will was on one ship, literally the next scene he was on a different ship. Eh? Did they cut out some of the film at the cinema i was watching it at? Oh and the ending was so obvious...as soon as they had to bring someone back you could tell who it was going to be. Maybe im just too good at guessing films now :D

I did enjoy the Monkey Island feel to it though :)

OMG how good was that? I didn't even think about going out for a cigarette halfway through (and I needed to go out for 4 during LOTR). And the ending! That wasn't an ending, it finished half way through! When's part 3? Do I really have to wait a whole year or are the rumours I've heard about Xmas true?

i disagree I think Jack and Elizabeth should get together, theres lots of chemistry and Jack gives her freedom, and a chance to do what she wants when she wants. Im sure it will all end in a happily ever after and as much as I love Will I want Jack to be with Elizabeth or atleast let us see some more chemistry between the two

But I can't really see Jack settling down and staying with one person - he's too flakey and he'd probably consider it an affront to his freedom.

That movie was WAY too long...

A classic middle chapter in the vein of Empire Strikes Back - with everything setting you up nicely for the already in production third part 'The World's End'. Whilst, that movie was WAY too long, the performances were ace (although a noticeable dialogue change form a clip in the trailer was strangely worse). Bill Nighy was wonderfully gross - the effects were like nothing I have ever seen - and I mean that it a appealingly creepy, tentactular c'thuloid way. That movie was WAY too long. Not sure where they're going with the Sparrow/Swann thing - although I personally suspect it's more that Jack and Elizabeth in some respects wish that they were each other - envying the lifestyle of freedom/security the other has. Although I'm probably way off base there. A cracking twist at the end which I (thankfully) did not see coming, and (like the first one) there's little bit after the credits apparently. Oh, and did I mention that movie was WAY too long?

I cant believe people are complaining that POTC2 was too long as I felt the film flew by and it was over before I knew it. I loved the ending as it lead into the third film amazingly as it left you wanting more!
The only problem is waiting untill next summer for POTC3 to see what happens next!

Saw it last night, enjoyed it very much. Bill Nighy has such a distinctive voice, and all through the film I was waiting for him to pop up, didn't realise he was Davy Jones! :p

Great action sequences, clever CGI, some good one liners - and I'm glad about the dog... :D

Gutted when it ended, great twist - but a whole year to wait to find out what happens next!

Rumours? What rumours? I haven't heard anything myself. Last I heard we had to wait until next summer. When I was walking out this guy looked at his watch and said to his girlfriend that we'd been in there almost three hours - she was really shocked. So was I . It didn't feel like 2 1/2 hours. That seems to be a hard thing to pull off lately. When I went to see Inside man that was about as long and I started twitching from about a hour in.

I've been seeing on the messageboarRAB that there is an extra scene after the credits - has anyone seen this?
