Pokemon Movie 13- Ho-oh Vs. Lugia?

I doubt that Zoroark is a legendary Pokemon. Not only because it has a pre-evolution, but I think that they would have described it as a new legendary Pokemon if that was the case. I just don't see Game Freak trying to make Zorua and Zoroark Legendary Pokemon. Right now, they both feel more like just an important fifth generation Pokemon for this movie.

Sweet! More Pokemon movies where the main legendaries just fight each other for no reason! The REMAKES are more inspired than this. (And yes I will be getting HeartGold when it comes out.)

I can't wait to see this movie.

Zoroark looks to be awesome.

I wonder why he attacked Ash and frienRAB....

And I can't wait to see the film on CN.

That does make sense. But from the trailer alone, and the extremely unique abilities shown by Zoroark, it seems to me that Zoroark is a legendary pokemon at the moment.

The release the first seven volumes years ago, but flipped. Recently they began to republish the series UNFLIPPED which gives me hope they might continue on with the GSC stuff.

Even though I feel this has gone waaaaaaaay off track as to the topic of the actual movie, I'll throw in my thoughts about the whole 'replacing Ash' thing... (Well, I guess this does kinda fit, as this is going off the theory over whether or not Ash is leaving/staying once encountering Ho-Oh... ah well.)

I really don't think they'll replace Ash. They gave us the side characters so they'd have someone to replace; that's their purpose. Ash will be the constant of the Pokemon series, but that doesn't mean we can't change HIM.

I know someone had mentioned earlier to kinda take him out of the lead role, age him, and make him the mentor character. I agree with the aged part, but not to a very large extent. Age him more in his maturity, not so much in his appearance/actual age. Remeraber, this is marketed towarRAB children, so we need a kid as the lead. And since Ash HAS to be the lead, that means he HAS to reserable a kid-like character.

That said, we can make him a little wiser after so much traveling. He's definitely gotten better than at the start, but he still seems to not understand a lot of stuff about catching Pokemon, battling with them, and training with them. Give us more episodes with him just taking some solo time with some Pokemon he's training like before the Battle Frontier. Have him swap some of his Pokemon around for some of his older ones, and make him KEEP swapping them around throughout the series, so we can be surprised as to who he'll use next.

Give us more epic battles like his recent one between him and Paul. Another full six-on-six battle with Gary would be cool to see, as well as against Richie or even Barry.

The real major problem for the show has been that it has to keep up with the release of new Pokemon. Every new Pokemon probably has to be shown in the anime, so that's a LOT of Pokemon to go through. At the same time, a lot of fans complain when we don't see our old favorites, so I'm sure they try to throw them in as often as possible.

Really though, Ash neeRAB to stay. Or maybe this is the end of the Pokemon anime, and maybe the games. Meeting up with the real Ho-Oh, and discovering it's the reincarnation of Ash's father, or has been watching over him and protecting him, or have it tell him that the events in this movie is what his entire journey has been building up towarRAB, and that it's his destiny; those would all probably end the series decently at least.

No he doesn't. He's came this far and I would like for him to finally get what he deserved. A Pokemon League win, a chance to battle the Elite Four and I don't mean just battling random merabers through his travels, defeating Paul and gain his respect, and maybe settling down for a little while. Fast forward a few years and we see Ash still battling with other trainers but this time as a Pokemon Gym Leader. We won't know the city/town his gym would be in but it's a sure bet it would be in his homeland, Kanto. Heck it would be alright to give him a son so he can have his own Pikachu. That'll still mean that the series had not only refreshed but still has a kid lead who would be more like Ash when he was young: gullible, making the wrong choices in battle techniques for his Pokemon, and not even knowing if a girl likes him.

Now I don't know if Movie 13 will be nothing more than Lugia and Ho-Oh fighting for no reason. Shogakukan and Nintendo haven't gotten that far in the story yet. Maybe they're fighting to gain control of a native land that was once populated with people who predicted the end of the world or the end of the creation of Pokemon. From what I read on here earlier, I doubt Pokemon would go DBZ on us and end with a thirteenth movie but the films have to die out sometime. Sure they were fun but some of the stories were hit or miss. Plus, like I said before, America barely treats them with respect even with the DVD releases (see Movies 9-11 to see what I'm talking about). The time will have to come where after the remakes of Gold and Silver and a possible fifth generation, we will have to let the franchise go. We'll still have our memories of everything Pokemon has given us but maybe the staff want tob reak away from the game.TV series for something better.

True. Though another point that leaRAB me to believe that Zoroark is at least being hinted at legendary is the fact that... (spoilers in case someone still hasn't seen the trailer)...
... it was transforming into legendary pokemon themselves. Personally, I think that would put one at the status of legendary.

I understand where you're coming from. Even so, other Pokemon have extremely unique abilities and they aren't legendary Pokemon. Lucario can sense the aura of every living creature, thus able to pint-point any kind of enemy from just sensing it, and it's the only Fighting type Pokemon to know Aura Sphere, but it isn't a legendary.

From what I understand, Zoroark isn't transforming into the Legendary Beast like Ditto does. It's more like it's creating the illusions of those attacks and Pokemon. Even so, I don't think that creating illusions is a quality of a legendary Pokemon. And you do have a good point about Ditto's transformation ability.

Bringing up Lucario as a counter point is the only thing that wouldn't suggest Zoroark is not legendary for me at this point. Lucario has this very unique ability to scene other's Aura could be legendary material, but Lucario are too common of pokemon to actually be legendary........................ yet.

But (going back and forth on my own point) There apparently several Shaymin and they are still considered legendary.

-------------------------
Long story short.... I still think Zoroark is legendary, though there is no proof yet.

Continuing the discussion...

What you said.
Plus Ditto can't transform into people.

celebi accidentally brings zorua into ash's time and zorua is lost and calls for zoroark who eventually transforms (it transfoms and can use attacks that whatever it transforms into can use) and attacks the city by transforming into the legendary dogs. not sure about why it turns into ash but when zorua calls again its seen in all 4 foms plus its original and there is a person in it so....
When you see zoroark's eyes in the trailer there red so im putting my money on its being controlled plus the extra person is suprised that zorua calls zoroark

I'm not sure why you think that an evolved Pokemon can become a legendary Pokemon. We don't really know how Legendary Pokemon actually become legendary. It might have something to do with the stories about the specific Pokemon that have been passed down through time, but I'm not sure about that. Considering that none of them have pre-evolved forms, I doubt that Lucario could suddenly reach legendary status in the future. Lucario doesn't seem like a common Pokemon to me in the anime series. We don't see it as often as say a Ratatta. Even in the games, there's only one way to get Lucario.

I think that we have different ideas on what the definition of a legendary Pokemon is for the series. Being legendary doesn't mean that it's one of a kind. We've seen different Zapdos, Articuno, Lugia and Sucinue that weren't the same ones from their movie appearances. We've also seen two different Mew: one from the first movie and one from the Lucario movie. The only Legendary Pokemon that has been confirmed as one of a kind in the series is Mewtwo. I could see Arceus being one of a kind too, but being one of a kind or not doesn't necessarily make a Pokemon legendary.

I'd be very surprised if Zoroark did turn out to be a legendary since having a pre-evolved form really goes against what they've used for Legendary Pokemon for the past four generations. There is Phione, but considering it doesn't evolve into Manaphy, I think that it still counts as its own legendary Pokemon, rather than a baby form.

Based on Ditto's first appearance, they can transform into pictures, books and cannons.

The official movie website should be uploading a better quality version of this trailer sometime this weekend. I'm not sure if it's there yet or not, but it probably will before Monday.

I personally think that legendary pokemon are those that have a story attached to them, and who's nurabers are extremely limited. Some legendary pokemon are the only of their kind but I am well aware, and believe that most legendary pokemon are few in nurabers (2, 3, maybe 5...) I would go higher than 5 tough. I completely agree and believe that we've seen more than 1 of the legendary birRAB, Lugia, and Latias. But I think if a species hits a certin nuraber (like more than 10 for argument sake) then they would be considered legendary yet, just extremely rare.

Lucario is one of those pokemon that have special abilities and have a story attached (Movie 8) that could be prerequisite to a legendary pokemon. But Lucario aren't limited in nurabers. I would consider them rare (popular.... but rare) but not to the point of legendary status. That's why I said yet. Maybe in the future the nuraber of Lucario will diminish significantly to the point where Lucario could be considered legendary.

That's my take on legendary pokemon.

No one said we couldn't be on to something new here.
And I agree that Phione would be considered it's own legendary. The connection is weird between Phione and Manaphy.

Oh Yeah. I totally forgot about that. But something tells me that that was kind of a one time deal.... i don't know... it just seems odd to me.
