Pokemon 5th Generation: What do you hope for next?

For the Paul debate, I think the reason why he has so many fans is becuase it's just mere fangirling/fanboying because of his 'bad boy' character. I've seen the same thing happen with the Silver fanbase, for pretty much the same reason also. A lot of the fans are wanting darker characters and darker plotlines (I've seen SO many people going "I want a darker, more mature plotline in Pokemon NAO!!" that it's not even funny). I'm all for a more in-depth storyline like what they did with the Galactic plot in the anime and in Platinum, but wanting a more "mature" plot in Pokemon of all shows is pushing it.

On a side note, the starters are supposed to be revealed this weekend on Pokemon Sunday. Any of you thinking that maybe one of 'em might get some sort of cameo towarRAB the Sinnoh League/after the Sinnoh League? If so, it wouldn't be the first time, since they had shown Harrison with his Blaziken during the Johto Leauge. Was quite a while ago, but still...

I actually think that Silver being one of the more interesting and well developed rivals in the game also helps with people liking him. Right now, Silver, in the games at least, has more character development than Paul does. He's pretty much the same person he was in his first appearance. I still think that he's an interesting character, mainly because he's the first non-evil team meraber, to be pretty much a jerk to Ash, but I think that there are some important differences between Paul and Silver.

I've also noticed that many people want to see darker storylines and characters in Pokemon for years. While they could make it a darker show and still make it kid friendly, such as the Team Galactic climax, I doubt that they'll do that often enough to appeal to people who are outside the target audience.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ash lost to a fifth generation Pokemon, either a final evolved starter like Blaziken, or just some kind of special new Pokemon. That would encourage him to travel to the fifth generation region to collect more badges.

I question whether he's actually 2 dimensional or not. I don't think he is, but I can see how people would think that.

Why didn't you just put this up when you posted after I did the first time?

If Paul is one note, what does that make Nurse Joy or Officer Jenny? Personally I find Paul more interesting that way, when he and Ash contrast each other, whether he's getting "shoved down our throats" or not is purely subjective and varies on viewer to viewer.

One note, of course. They've always been that way.

It's allright if you find that interesting. I just think it got old a long time ago.

The new characters:

Needless to say, I love the new female.

Could they make those shorts any shorter? We went from Dawn's tiny skirt, to short shorts. I see GameFreak knows their stuff.

If that girl replaces Dawn next arc, (which she probably will), I think she'll be an interesting character. Her design is awesome.

What do I hope for in Pokemon Generation 5?

An awesome title something like The Black and White Pokemon Adventure.

Ash, Dawn and Brock staying together.

Ash keeping Pikachu and Gible and leaving the rest of his Pokemon behind at Oak's lab.

Dawn keeping just Piplup and leaving her other Pokemon with her Mom.

Brock keeping Croagunk and leaving his other two at his families gym.

Team Rocket having a base in the new region like how they used to be since Hoenn and Sinnoh didn't have a Team Rocket base. Maybe a more permanent appearance by Jessie and Jamie's rivals Butch and Cassidy.

Ash to win the Pokemon League.

Of course most likely Dawn will get replaced by the new girl.

LOL Wow a Brock fan
I like how the girl looks, she looks like shey'll a bit boyish.
Some thing I want after having two really girly girls.
Now the question is, will Brock stay or leave?
I think we already know what will happen with Dawn.
Ovbiously shey'll be leave after winning the Grand Festival.
Brock's a harder one to figure out. He's been with Ash for a long time.
However the spoiler on him for the end of the saga has me curious.
He could be leaving this time.
Many are speculating maybe this time Ash will get two new travel buddys.

Unless Butch and Cassidy become like they originally were before Chronicles, I wouldn't enjoy seeing them more often than we already do. I preferred them when they were like the anti-Jessie and James, which basically meant that they were more threatening and more competent, despite the fact that they always lost too. Ever since Chronicles, they've felt more like carbon copies of Jessie and James, only without their chemistry and humor.

I still think that there are a few Brock fans out there. I still like him and I'm also not in favor of replacing him. Sure, he doesn't do that much, but my enjoyment of the series isn't damaged by his presence either.

I've heard about that statement about Brock looking to the future with some kind of goal. While I agree that Brock leaving is a possibility, that statement could also refer to a role he'll have in the new region or something special about the new region itself. They left it fairly vague, so I don't think it's a guarantee that he'll leave based on that.

I wouldn't mind if they did have four people in the group again. It could be Ash, Brock, new girl and a new boy. I doubt that they would have the new male trainer in the group considering that they've never made a big deal out of them before. One of the aspects of AG that I did like was the main cast being larger than before, so it would be be cool to see that again.

That would be an interesting approach. I'm not sure how that would work since she would have other Pokemon and the writers would want her team to consist of mainly fifth generation related Pokemon.

I don't think they could ever make that logical

Yes, I'm sure there are a few Brock fans out here.
I've seen some, but not many so whenever I see one I guess it shocks me

Yah that spoiler on Brock could go either way. Could mean new goal next region or leaving, I agree.

Um, well I was more thinking Ash/New Girl/New Boy but at least with two new added characters Brock might be cooler. They've done it before with AG with adding May and Max to the group, not too impossible.

I believe that those are her pockets. I agree that they look pretty weird, but I'm more surprised with how extremely short her shorts are. Despite that, she has a really cool design. I love how she comes off as more assertive/confident looking than most other female trainers' designs. Hopefully, she'll have an awesome personality in the anime.

I can understand that. In the Pokemon forums I visit, there's a lot more hate for Brock than visible fans. I can understand some of the dislike for him, but sometimes it seems to go a bit too far, especially when he's really just not doing that much, instead of something awful.

I had a feeling that's what you were referring to. I don't think that they'll include the new boy in the main group since his design has a few similarities with Ash's, or at least Red's, look. I totally wouldn't mind if they gave him more than brief cameos, but I don't really expect anything more than that to happen.

This is one of the few times I could see a timeskip happening.

What I really want is these two heroes as the leaRAB, with Ash being the recurring rival. It would be following new characters but Ash would still be in the show.

Well that's just the thing, fans don't like Brock cuz he doesn't do much.
I guess it could be worse, but some fans are just tired of him flirting with girls each episode and being in the background. Its cool that there are people who love his character, heck I used to love him in series one.
That's true what you say about the boy, which is why I expect Ash to gain a simular look to the new guy like he does every generation I guess.

Cybs while that'd be an intresting idea, I just don't see them replacing Ash. If they do I'll be shocked

I did to until I realized it was her pockets.. then it makes her shorts seem even skimpier. Hopefully she comes off more tough and kick-ass like Revy rather than a ditzy birabo.

This is going to sound durab, because I don't own any of the Pokemon games.

Was there ever a guy in the games (I would think so, because a person could play as a girl or a guy) and if yes, did he appear in the anime?

In all the Pokemon-training, badge-collecting games, you could play as a guy. (In the oldest of the games you could only play as a guy.)

Who the guy was depended on the game you were playing (whether Red/Green/Blue/Yellow/FireRed/LeafGreen, Gold/Silver/HeartGold/SoulSilver/Crystal, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, or Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. And now, Black/White).
